A new horror-mystery-thriller from Terror Films and director Julio Maria Martino, Country of Hotels tells the stories of "the desperate souls who pass through the doors of 508, a room on the fifth floor of an anonymous, decaying hotel. We are taken on a surreal and blackly comic journey down its lonely corridors and behind its outdated furnishings and stained surfaces. The story plunges us into the ever-turning carousel of haunted lives who check in and out of this sinister establishment."
Says director Martino, “When we were making Country of Hotels, we worked hard to create an environment which was relentlessly oppressive and claustrophobic, occasionally punctuated by moments of dark humor. An enclosed world in which an unseen, unnamed and mutable threat lurked behind hotel room doors and down long lonely corridors. A threat which might manifest itself suddenly and at any moment. There is something to be said for a film that attempts to tap into the madnesses of mankind. The human mind is the scariest place on earth and to focus a story in this ever changing, sometimes wondrous, sometimes nightmarish headspace, is a great but also challenging prospect. For those that succeed – The Shining, Jacob’s Ladder, Joker – they enjoy a connection that is sometimes intriguing and sometimes fiercely honest and thus becomes legendary, however other films aim equally big but don’t quite manage to capture that same success. In fact, ironically enough, when toying with the mind onscreen you can sometimes risk becoming lost in it and thus losing the story too (The Strange Colour of Your Body’s Tears). Unfortunately, Julio Maria Martino’s Country of Hotels falls into this category.

Not bad, cool storyline. They establish that everything may not be what it seems, especially with Clive Owen’s character.
Intruders also stars Pilar López de Ayala, Lolita Chakrabarti, Mark Wingett, Adam Leese, and Imogen Gray.

It looks like telly and radio wit Joe Cornish is beginning to emerge from the shadow of his good friend, Edgar Wright: as he makes his directorial debut with an alien invasion comedy, Attack the Block. And according to a deleted tweet (kept for posterity by Google), Nick Frost - the burly Brit known for roles in Wright's "Blood and Ice Cream" films - has been cast.
Adam Leese, who is also attached to the film, tweeted, "Reading Attack the Block script for 1st read through tomorrow. Looking forward to working with Nick Frost." Other than an official press release, this is a pretty solid confirmation. After Simon Pegg let loose news of Andy Serkis replacing David Tennant on Burke and Hare, it looks like we Brits love to let casting scoops slip through on Twitter.
The story follows a group of hoodies, who the media believe are responsible for a wave of muggings.

And now we have some confirmation: Frost is in!Screen Daily has an updated cast list for the film, which includes Leese, Jodie Whittaker, John Boyega, Alex Esmail, Franz Drameh, Leeon Jones and Simon Howard. Oh, and a certain Mr Frost. Which is great news. There’s no word on what role he’ll be playing yet, though we’re sure he’ll be fantastic in it. Frost + Cornish + Assault On Precinct 13 + Aliens? We’ll get our hoodie.

Plenty of people know and love Edgar Wright for his stellar work on movies like Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and the highly anticipated Scott Pilgrim vs The World. Someone you may not know (unless of course you're from the United Kingdom or simply obsessed with British pop culture) is his old friend, collaborator and TV star Joe Cornish who worked with Wright on the scripts for the upcoming adaptations of Ant Man and The Adventures of Tintin. You'll know him better soon as he's making his directorial debut with an alien invasion comedy Attack the Block, which The Playlist discovered might have Nick Frost attached to star. This news comes from a now deleted (but Google cached) Twitter update from actor Adam Leese who has been listed as part of the cast on IMDb for a while now. In his update on February 21st, Leese said, "Reading Attack...
