Exclusive: Emmy nominee Camila Morrone has signed with Brillstein Entertainment Partners for representation.

Morrone is coming off the hit Amazon limited series Daisy Jones & The Six, for which she received a Best Supporting Actress Emmy nomination for her role as Camila Dunne, and the Patrica Arquette-directed Gonzo Girl, which recently premiered at the Toronto Film Festival. Up next she can be seen starring opposite Joe Keery in the independent film Marmalade, directed and written by Keir O’Donnell.

She received critical praise for her starring role as a Montana teenager caring for her father, a veteran with a substance abuse problem, in Annabelle Attanasio’s indie film Mickey and the Bear. American actor Angus Young got an emotional farewell at his hometown of Oakland with a candlelight vigil paying tribute to the late ‘Euphoria’ star. According to TMZ, the town’s local artiste Darin Balaban, painted a 9-foot-tall mural on the wall of an Oakland car wash with over 50 people showing up at the mural for a candlelight vigil, with many bringing flowers and pictures of Angus and placing them at the base of the wall.

Others brought liquor and beer, then the group began playing music, sang songs together, danced and exchanged stories as part of both paying tribute and celebrating Angus’ life and legacy at the mural.

Disney+ is moving forward on what they’re labeling a “modern reinvention” of the Witch Mountain film franchise that kicked off in 1975 with Escape to Witch Mountain. Return from Witch Mountain followed in 1978, and then in 1995 Robert Vaughn and Elisabeth Moss starred in a television remake of the 1975 family-friendly film. Having survived multiple Jurassic Worlds, Bryce Dallas Howard now is escaping to Witch Mountain, as a star of Disney+‘s series “reimagining” of the long-dormant film franchise.

The Witch Mountain franchise began way back in 1975, kids, with Escape to Witch Mountain, which was followed years later by Return to Witch Mountain and then Beyond Witch Mountain. In 1995, the original film was remade for TV as Disney’s Escape to Witch Mountain, while 2009 brought us Race to Witch Mountain, a theatrical redo of, well, Escape to Witch Mountain.

Augustine Frizzell is set to direct “The Invisible Life of Addie Larue,” a feature film adaptation of V.E. Schwab’s fantasy novel.

Frizzell will also write the script with her husband, filmmaker David Lowery. Schwab was initially on board to pen the screenplay from an initial draft by Britt Poulton and Dan Madison Savage. Though she’s no longer adapting her words for the big screen, Schwab will remain involved on the project as a producer.

The film, based on the novel When You Were Mine by Rebecca Serle, is a modern twist on the classic Shakespeare tale. In it, we see “the most famous love story ever told” through the eyes of Juliet’s cousin Rosaline (Dever), a sharp but idealistic young woman—who happens to be Romeo’s recent ex.

Stevenson joins as Paris, Rosaline’s best friend and confidant who finds himself mixed up in the Romeo and Juliet storyline.

Augustine Frizzell’s film of Jojo Moyes’ book The Last Letter From Your Lover leads the new titles in UK-Ireland cinemas this weekend, looking to work towards the result of previous Moyes’ adaptation Me Before You.

Released by Studiocanal in 550 locations, The Last Letter From Your Lover follows an ambitious journalist who attempts to solve the mystery of a forbidden affair at the centre of a series of secret love letters from 1964. A co-production between the UK’s Blueprint Pictures and Canada’s The Film Farm, it is being released by Netflix in the US.

This dual time period romance from Augustine Frizzell, adapted from the book by Jojo Moyes should appeal to romantics as it comes complete with not one but two will they/won’t they affairs but it does require some patience to start with before things get going.

Beginning in the Sixties, the early action involving husband and wife Jennifer and Lawrence Stirling (Shailene Woodley and Joe Alwyn) has the air of one of those Flake adverts from the 70s to start with, all gauzy photography and whispered conversation in burnished hallways. You don’t have to be a sharp-edged journalist to see the obvious connection between the apparent heroines at the heart of Augustine Frizzell’s “The Last Letter from Your Lover,” including dull-edged journalist Ellie (Felicity Jones) and glamorous stifled ’60s housewife Jennifer (Shailene Woodley). Both women have been waylaid by love gone wrong, and can only hope to find true happiness by imagining — and then seizing — a new life for themselves.

It’s certainly a sweet concept for a novel, but one that never quite translates its disparate tones and stories into a cohesive cinematic experience.

But back to those different heroines. Shailene Woodley is returning to screens with the Netflix release of the upcoming romance “The Last Letter from Your Lover” on July 23. She was last seen in “The Mauritanian” and, before that, in Drake Doremus’ indie “Endings, Beginnings” and on the second season of HBO’s smash hit “Big Little Lies” — often portraying characters who have to bare more than just their soul.

In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Shailene Woodley talks about her break from the limelight, grappling with health issues, and her upcoming role. But she also speaks about her approach to filming movie sex scenes, which were demanded by “Endings, Beginnings,” and how she prefers, as THR’s Rebecca Keegan puts it, “realism over modesty.”

Haim have released a new song, “Cherry Flavored Stomach Ache,” which comes off the soundtrack to the upcoming Netflix film The Last Letter From Your Lover.

“Cherry Flavored Stomach Ache,” which appears during a key scene in the movie, was written by Haim and Ariel Rechtshaid and produced by Danielle Haim and Ariel Rechtshaid. Haim was handpicked by director Augustine Frizzell to create the track.

“I’m a huge fan of their music,” Frizzell said. “It has a feel that’s both modern and retro and felt like [lead character] Ellie’s world.

Young adult horror fans (and those who are young adult at heart) will have a great time scrolling through Netflix in July 2021.

The streaming giant announced the new original movies and series coming to the service in July, as well as the library titles it will feature for the foreseeable future.

Among the biggest projects include a trilogy of “Fear Street” films from director Leigh Janiak (“Honeymoon”) and based on the teen horror franchise by R.L. Stine. The three movies will debut over consecutive weeks on Netflix, with the first dropping July 2.

Actress turned filmmaker Augustine Frizzell makes her splashy Netflix feature debut with the upcoming romantic drama, “The Last Letter from Your Lover,” which is scheduled to drop on the streaming platform July 23. The film stars Shailene Woodley in her first major leading role since Drake Doremus’ 2019 “Endings, Beginnings” (also a romance), and she’s joined by Callum Turner, Academy Award nominee Felicity Jones, Joe Alwyn, and Nabhaan Rizwan. Along with a big international ensemble, the film also spans time periods (the 1960s and the present day) and locations (London and the French Riviera). Watch the first trailer below.

A Netflix project based on Jojo Moyes’ best-selling novel, The Last Letter From Your Lover might preem in the same lieu Never Goin’ Back did back in 2018 – just in an altogether different program section. The set in the 1960’s project features the likes of Shailene Woodley, Felicity Jones and Callum Turner and went into production in October 2019 in Mallorca and London.

Director Augustine Frizzell commenced a London-set Canadian production of Last Letter from Your Lover for her sophomore feature not much time after putting out some television work in a pair of episodes for Sweetbitter. A Netflix project based on the best-selling novel by Jojo Moyes; produced by Graham Broadbent, Peter Czernin, Stephen Traynor, Simone Urdl and Jennifer Weiss, Frizzell nabs Shailene Woodley and Felicity Jones (both executive producing) to headline, with Joe Alwyn, Nabhaan Rizwan, Callum Turner and Ncuti Gatwa also in the cast. Frizzell’s first feature, Never Goin’ Back, premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival and was also programmed in SXSW.…...

Joker cinematographer Lawrence Sher won the Golden Frog at Poland’s EnergaCamerimage International Film Festival on Saturday (November 16).

The box-office hit, starring Joaquin Phoenix and directed by Todd Phillips, also won the audience award at the festival, which returned to Torun, Poland.

“Joker” cinematographer Lawrence Sher’s bid, along with director Todd Phillips, to try something “perhaps even a bit artful” won big Saturday in Torun, Poland as he took the top prize at the EnergaCamerimage Intl. Film Festival.

The Golden Frog for cinematography, along with the audience prize, went to his work filming Joaquin Phoenix in the dark origin story of Batman’s nemesis for its “dystopian storytelling” that “challenges us and unsettles us,” the jury said.

Sher quipped that such a gritty film from “the guys who made ‘The Hangover’ is not always expected.”

The fest wrapped in its new home, the historic city where it was first launched 27 years ago, after screenings of 188 films, most judged by some of 48 jurors in 10 competition categories.

Netflix has acquired nearly all worldwide rights to “The Last Letter From Your Lover,” a romantic drama starring Felicity Jones and Shailene Woodley. Financial terms of the deal are not known, but the pact includes domestic rights.

StudioCanal, which put together the picture, will release the film in the U.K., France, Germany, Australia, and New Zealand. StudioCanal’s output partner Svensk will distribute the film in Scandinavia. The company will be selling the film in China, where Netflix does not operate.
