Robert X. Golphin is an American award-winning actor-filmmaker-screenwriter from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is best known for his portrayal of Dunbar Reed in the Golden Globe nominated The Great Debaters (2007). He garnered "Best Actor" and "Best Supporting Actor" wins and nominations at U.S. and international film festivals for his roles in the multi award-winning dramas Essential (2020) and How to Tie a Tie (2022).
Robert authored the novella, "Cold Night In A Warm Season" (April 2021).
A member of SAG/AFTRA, Robert also holds an MFA in Screenwriting (Spalding University), B.A. in Theatre & Film (Magna Cum Laude, Saint Augustine's University) and Diploma in Creative Writing (Philadelphia H.S. for Creative & Performing Arts).
