I use the word “adulting,” to reference this notion that there is an adult/mature/right-way to be. We all get confused by the social need to conform to adult behaviors. Krista and Marlie are as close as two friends could be, sadly they come to the conclusion that their friendship will have to end simply because "it's high school." In their world high school is the beginning of adulthood.
