Mumbai, March 11 (Ians) Actress Ridhi Dogra, who plays the lead in the new web series "The Married Woman", says watching the show for the first time after the final edit was an emotional experience for her.
Ridhi plays the role of Astha in the show, which revolves around same-sex love or lesbianism -- a topic considered taboo by many.
"'The Married Woman' has been a great journey, which I will cherish forever. When I watched the entire show recently, I got emotional. After the last episode got over, and the song 'Bematlab' started playing, and I was crying. I was wondering why I started crying since I had only played the character. I could feel Astha's pain and journey. I am grateful to the audience and my fans for showering their love, blessings, and support," she said.

Starring Sonakshi Sinha,Varun Sharma,Priyanshu Jora, Kulbhushan Kharbanda,Annu Kapoor, Nadira Babbar
Directed by Shilpi Dasgputa
There are some wonderful things happening in this offbeat entertainer. For one, the tightlipped stuffed shirts are being made to talk about, ahem, sex.
When did Bollywood lose its inhibitions? Probably when we were watching B R Ishara’s Chetna or Rajinder Singh Bedi’s Dastak, revolutionary films way back in the 1970s where women were shown to have a sexual appetite that needed fuelling in a country that won’t even acknowledge male sexuality and its pitfalls unless done in whispers.
Here in this brave and uninhibited film, an anonymous woman comes to a courtroom and speaks of a husband whose ‘balloon’ had no ‘gas’ until he visited the notorious Baby Bedi’s sex clinic.
Baby, by the way, is played with feisty energy by Sonakshi Sinha. Whether riding her rickety scootie to work,...

The first-half of Sunny Deol’s admirable but finally undone sequel to the 1990 hit Ghayal is so riveting that one is hoodwinked into believing that we are on to something remarkably well-packaged over here.
Wrong! The second-half comes on like a tornado to wipe out all the good that is achieved earlier. And initially there is plenty that is done with edge-of-the-seat heart-in-the-mouth adeptness as we are introduced to our hero 14 years after he was incarcerated for killing Balwant Rai, played by Amrish Puri in the 1990 hit Ghayal.
New era. New villain. Same hero. This time Ajay Mehra, older and far more distraught than he was 14 years ago (he is psychiatric medication) takes on a corporate tycoon named Raj Bansal, played by Narendra Jha who was so compelling as Tabu’s missing husband in Haider. Here, the rhythm required from Jha is different and he tries hard to find his bearings.

Take any day in your life that you wish you had a helping hand. A day you may have forgotten your wallet, when you needed to pay for your bus ticket. A day your car broke down, when you had to go to an interview. What if a stranger gave you that helping hand? No questions asked and in return, didn’t ask for money or a favour. Just that you help another when the chance came to you. Would you? Jai Ho shows us how a common man that left his army life, takes on the fight to help humanity, and for a bit of masala, bashes a few bad guys along the way.

Coming up next Friday, is Jai Ho starring Salman Khan and fans cannot wait to see this film on the big screen! The music videos have also been a huge hit with fans, especially ‘Photocopy’ and we have some cool scoop to reveal! Little does anyone know but the song was tweaked at the nth hour.
Earlier, the song had the brand name Xerox embedded in a line instead of the word photocopy, but that had to be changed. Here’s the story….
Sources share that the makers strongly wanted to use Xerox as the word has more of a recall value. However, the lengthy process to get permission since it is a brand name kept them at bay. The makers asked for permission from the Xerox to use the word in the song, but it was a long process to get the required permissions and formalities in place. That...

Salman Khan insisted on the movie-shy theatre stalwart Nadira Babbar for his mom's role in Jai Ho. And the bonding is there for everyone to see. In the past it was Reema Lagoo who constantly played Salman's mother in film after film since Main Pyar Kiya. In his recent films barring Dabangg, where Dimple Kapadia played his mother, Salman's character has not had a mother-figure in his reel life. In the Dabangg sequel, the mother was no more. And that isn't a coincidence. Says a source very close to Salman, "Bhai takes the mother's role in all his films very seriously. There was a time after Maine Pyar Kiya when Reemaji (Reema Lagoo) was Salman's favourite screen-mom and he insisted on having her play his mom. After Reemaji the one screen-mom whom he really warmed up to was Hemaji." Apparently, when a screen-mom was required in Sohail Khan's Jai Ho,...

Bride & Prejudice
LONDON -- Bride & Prejudice is like an Elvis Presley musical from the '60s, filled with shiny bright colors, bouncy music and happy, smiling, pretty people. Like those old pop vehicles, this upbeat blend of Bollywood and Jane Austen is an acquired taste. While the plot is inane and the acting bland, the film's relentless effervescence may endear it to mainstream audiences.
Director Gurinder Chadha probably shouldn't expect to match the crossover appeal that made her last film, Bend It Like Beckham, such a hit, but Bride & Prejudice will succeed with moviegoers seeking an agreeably good time.
Chadha and co-writer Paul Mayeda Berges have adapted Austen's Pride and Prejudice to make the Bennet sisters the Bakshi sisters, taking them from rural England to rural India. There is a Mr. Darcy, however, in the form of a rich American hotelier.
The traditions and formalities of one culture appear to translate reasonably well though only lip service is given to the notion that the Bakshi family is poor. India has seldom been portrayed as so ravishingly clean and gorgeous.
The Bakshis live in Amritsar, an Indian town off the tourist track, where four beautiful girls are ripe for marriage and given every encouragement by their ambitious mother, Mrs. Bakshi (Nadira Babbar). Reigning Bollywood queen Aishwarya Rai plays the loveliest sister, Lalita, but the others -- Jaya (Namrata Shirodkar), Lakhi (Peeya Rai Choduri) and Maya (Meghnaa) -- are also head-turners.
Potential suitors arrive in the form of the American Darcy Martin Henderson), a London-based Indian named Balraj (Naveen Andrews) and one Mr. Kholi (Nitin Ganatra), an Indian gentleman who has made a success of accountancy in Los Angeles. There's also a good-looking but smarmy British hunk named Johnny Wickham (Daniel Gillies), who is at odds with Darcy.
The paths of romance hold true to the established patterns of Austen and Presley, which is to say there are several misunderstandings, the wrong things are said and feelings are hurt before love finds a way.
The locations are all made to look fabulous, from Amritsar and Goa to London and Beverly Hills, and the performers are all scrumptious. The music is loud and energetic, the dancing athletic and voluptuous. Resistance to the picture's evident wish to please becomes futile. In the end, it's impossible not to smile.
