Jennifer is a 2nd generation Filipin*-Canadian actor, singer, arts educator, and emerging playwright. Originally from Winnipeg, she started her career singing and 'fake it til you make it' dancing in local musicals at Rainbow Stage, Prairie Theatre Exchange, and Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre. She also appeared in several local film/TV productions such as 2030 CE, The Adventures of Shirley Holmes, and Beyond: Surviving the Reality... where she was nominated for a Best Actress Blizzard Award in 2001. After moving to Toronto in 2004, she was one of 10 artists chosen to participate in Soulpepper Theatre Company's inaugural Soulpepper Academy. Selected theatre credits include Vietgone & Top Girls (RMTC), Hana's Suitcase (YPT, Geordie Theatre, Seattle Children's Theatre in the U.S.), Alligator Pie (Soulpepper, Persephone Theatre, MTYP, Vertigo), Animal Farm & Wedding at Aulis (Soulpepper), and A Year With Frog and Toad (YPT) which won a Dora Award for Outstanding Production in the Musical Theatre Division.
