Mak Wai-cheung began his career as a martial arts actor and stuntman at the famous Hong Kong film studio "Shaw Brothers". He was a protege of veteran martial arts actor/director Chia-Liang Liu appearing in many of his greatest movies including the The 36th Chamber of Shaolin (1978) series. In the mid 80s he would work with another great stunt team, the world famous Jackie Chan Stunt Team. Later he would go on to join yet another of the great Hong Kong stunt team when he joined Donnie Yen's team. One of his most memorable onscreen roles was as the Monkey-style fighter in Donnie Yen's directorial debut Legend of the Wolf (1997).
