Started as a mere alalay (helper) of actor John Estrada in 1998. He and John were once neighbors in Parañaque when the later was still married to Janice De Belen. They were in the same village basketball team.

He credits John Estrada and ABS-CBN's star builder Johnny Manahan for giving him the break. So even when he left the network and transferred to the rival GMA 7, Bearwin never say negative comments against his former home network.

Started as extra in Palibhasa lalake (1987) and eventually became a regular.

Also a practicing magician. However, he dislikes to be called magician. He prefers to be called as "an entertainer in the art of magic." He said most Filipinos think magician as those who perform in children parties.
