One of a large number of background artists who sprang up in the immediate post-war period and appeared in dozens, sometimes hundreds, of films. Jim Brady and Fred Wood, for example, have each appeared in over 200 films and TV programmes. Their faces became so familiar that eagle-eyed movie addicts would try to spot them in previously uncredited roles. As far as I know, their is no publication which has gathered all of these familiar faces together but there are two websites which have attempted to provide a database of lesser-known actors and extras - Aveleyman and Moviedude.
