- Louise is a new British actor, born and raised in Scotland. She responded to her artistic calling late in life having never studied drama as a child.
Although focused on academia at school, Louise was also very musical and sporty. At the age of four, she took herself to her first piano lesson and in upper school she played orchestral piano and percussion. Louise also swam competitively aged 7-16.
Louise went on to secure a Master's in French from the University of Glasgow. As part of her degree, Louise spent a year working in Paris as English Assistant at a local secondary school then spent extensive periods living and working in Paris. French Cinema was the subject of her final degree thesis.
During her studies Louise worked as a represented model and tested with Elite Model Management. As she was graduating, she was presented with the opportunity to move to Milan to pursue modeling professionally, which she reluctantly declined having just committed 5 years on her degree.
Immediately after qualifying, Louise moved to London to pursue a career in corporate marketing. She experimented across a range of industries and organizational types, and ultimately specialized in professional and financial services, where she worked for world-leading firms, progressing to Director level. Louise also conceived two start-ups of her own.
In 2010, Louise took her first ever dance class, instantly fell in love with it and began her 10,000 hours of training and experimenting across a wide variety of dance styles. She acquired a diploma in Classical Dance, with specialty in Jazz.
Louise then began to perform, dancing in iconic musical theatre shows like Cats and was cast in principal roles such as Satine in Moulin Rouge and Velma in Chicago. She also performed with a large burlesque troupe on internationally renowned stages such as Hippodrome Casino and The Clapham Grand in London.
In 2020, Louise secured the role of Alain: host of established French musical cabaret Ca, C'est Paris, which was preparing to tour in the UK for the first time. However, when the pandemic hit and the theaters closed, the production had to press pause on plans.
As most of her experience to-date is on Stage, Louise has worked as a featured Supporting Artist, Double and Stand-In on many film and TV productions from independents to high-profile films and TV projects such as Avenue 5 S2 and Andor to train herself in Screen.
In 2024 Louise graduated in Acting from London School of Dramatic Art. And although new to industry Louise is fast acquiring experience across a wide range of projects, including short film The Hunt, feature film When the Withered Leaf Awakens, Gaming, Corporate and Voice-Over projects.
Movement is still very important to Louise, and she maintains a high level of fitness, practicing Pilates and yoga daily. She lives in London with her husband and two cats.- IMDb Mini Biography By: Louise Woodhead
