Lissa Carandang-Sweeney was born in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania to her parents Mylene and Raymond. Her interest in acting began to bud in her 20s, starting in Philadelphia and eventually making her way to New York City. Her first small but notable debut as a featured bar girl in the third season of Amy Sherman-Palladino's, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel kicked off her determination to pursue on-camera work. When she's not acting, Lissa enjoys reading, painting, cooking, studying linguistics, and playing music.
As a proud half Filipino, half American artist, Lissa is beyond grateful to have the privilege to work as an actor in the worlds greatest city for performing artists. Growing up in two distinct cultures has taught her to appreciate the charm and nuanced complexities offered by both, and she draws upon these experiences to bring authenticity and depth to her performances. Lissa hopes to make her parents, step parents, friends, and community proud, and further wishes to tell stories that inspire, entertain, uplift, and empower audiences around the globe.
