Born in 1955 in Essex, England, Tony Parsons started working for the
NME (New Musical Express) as a punk journalist in 1976, going on the
road with bands like Sex Pistols. He
married and divorced fellow journalist,
Julie Burchill. They had a son,
Bobby Parsons, together. It is widely
believed that Parsons' novel
Man and Boy (2002) is
semi-autobiographical He has now re-married, and lives in London. Still
working as a journalist, he has a regular column in The Mirror and
participates in the BBC arts programme,
Late Review (1994). Throughout
his career, he has also written for The Daily Mail, GQ, The Face,
Arena, The Guardian, The Daily Telegraph, The Spectator, The Sunday
Times and Elle. His second novel, "One For My Baby", was published in
2001, and his third, "The Family Way", in 2004.
