Santiago Cabrera, born to a Chilean diplomat, did not originally plan to become an actor. In fact, he had planned on becoming a soccer star and played soccer for three years on a scholarship before switching gears and headed towards acting.
Before going to Drama School, Santiago played semi-pro soccer in London.
He was cast as "Aquaman" in the Warner Brothers film, "Justice League of America", set to shoot in Australia under the direction of George Miller. The movie was pulled by the studio once the writers strike hit in 2008.
