Sofia Ayerdi is a producer, writer and director of Mexican origin. She is an alumna of the Gold Rising Program of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and was chosen as a trophy presenter at the 2022 Oscars. She is a member of Blackmagic Design's Blackmagic Collective and was part of the First Frame Initiative for emerging directors. She founded her production company, Zanate Films, with the purpose of promoting film in Tecpan de Galeana, Mexico, the town where she is from. She was recently one of ten fellows for the Netflix-sponsored LALIFF Inclusion Fellowship through which she directed her latest project, Na Savi. She has been interviewed on Good Morning America, Spectrum News 1, El Universal, among others, for her work as a filmmaker.
