Although the following albums "Freak of Nature" (2001), "Anastacia" (2004) and "Pieces of a Dream" (2005) were successful as well, she hasn't made as big an impact in the US.
- Announced on 21 January 2003 that she was diagnosed with breast cancer, after her doctor told her to go through a mammography. Luckily for her, the cancer was diagnosed at an early stage and she recovered soon. In February 2013, it was announced that Anastacia was battling a more intense form of breast cancer. On July 20 the singer announced via Twitter that she was again cancer free, while on October 1, 2013 to coincide with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Anastacia informed the media that she had undergone a double mastectomy.
