Maurice P. Kerry
- Actor
- Producer
- Director
Maurice P. Kerry, whose name means "handsome and dark", is the oldest child of three. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia to Adrianne D. Pless and Donald S. Horton. A United States Marine Corps Veteran who fought in Operation Iraqi Freedom II, Kerry is also a full-time single father, director, gamer, and acting coach.
When his time as an active duty Marine ended, Kerry was homeless in southern California for more than a year before launching his acting career. He began landing supporting cast roles in 2006 and quickly decided to take the craft more seriously. Soon thereafter, Kerry landed feature roles in the independent films 'Deadly Dispatch' and 'Grobb' while simultaneously building a name and reputation as San Diego rapper '7K' with the Marine rap group SouthuNoyZ.
Fueled by a passion to consistently maintain a steady amount of strength, spirit, and energy to be there for his daughter, Kerry is an advocate for both physical and mental health as Maurice is also a disabled veteran with P.T.S.D. In the Marines he was a rifleman and welder. Later he was an EMT/Firefighter and Security Contractor in Kuwait. He has parlayed that experience into now being a full-time bully deterrent. He prides himself on always needing to be strong enough to put family on his back and carry them through the fire should that need arise.
Kerry lives his life by a series of mantras, including "Don't Quit, Grit!", "Hard ain't impossible", and "In Iraq, I was shot at and blown up. The enemy couldn't kill me, so what do you think your opinion can do?"
