Daniel Mavrov
- Actor
Daniel Mavrov is a Czech actor known for his frequent appearances in popular local TV shows and Web-series, commercials, as well as in international films.
Born in Prague, Daniel spent much of his early life in the small city of Ricany u Prahy before moving back to the capital to pursue his acting career. In his second year of high school, Daniel spent a year studying abroad in the United States where he perfected his English, played in the school's ice hockey team, and gained useful insights into the cultural differences between America and Europe.
Daniel's acting career started in a small community theater. He quickly discovered his love for film and, after his first few successful auditions, he knew that film was the main medium in which he wanted to create.
Daniel took acting workshops taught by Brian Caspe, known for Jojo Rabbit (2019) or Hellboy (2004). From Brian, Daniel learned the Meisner Technique, which greatly increased his confidence both in acting and in life in general. Brian also helped Daniel get a foothold in the film industry, making several useful introductions and mentoring the young actor, who then went on to attend several additional film and acting courses taught by Francisco J. Medina, Ivo Consi, Xander Turian and Tom Logan (Czech and international professionals based in Prague).
Alongside film acting, Daniel studied movement, voice, speech and dialect, and gained the ability to act convincingly in both English and Czech. He is committed to lifelong learning and is currently (2020/August) expanding his abilities as a comic and serious actor under the tutelage of Ivo Consi.
Appearing in everything from international films to music videos or commercials, Daniel has already enjoyed a very versatile career on screen, both large and small, and was chosen to act many completely different characters, showing his vast range.
He has played in well-known Czech commercials for brands such as McDonalds and for products ranging from music festivals to dog food. Daniel has also appeared in several Czech TV series, including the prime time soap Blue Code that appears on the major Czech TV channel, TV Prima. Daniel also has an episode role in the upcoming TV mini-series Herec, and recurring role in the highly popular Web-series, Lajna 2.
Daniel first pursued his acting and entertainment career with one simple goal - to bring joy and laughter to people. He later realized a deeper goal and is now working hard to be both a better actor and a better person. Daniel aspires to use his craft to help people feel more, understand each other more, and understand themselves more. He wants every scene of his every performance to be - TruthFULL. "FULL" means full of joy, happiness, love, fear, hate, anxiety, excitement and any other emotions that his character may be going through in the moment. By exploring himself and his characters this way, Daniel believes that he can use the medium of film to form powerful connections with his viewers.
