Kelvin Omori is a Canadian filmmaker. He uses film as a means to discuss what it means to be Black in a society that views itself as post-racial, and Blackness in popular culture. Kelvin founded his production company, 'Komatik Films' in 2016 producing over a dozen music videos for local artists from the Greater Toronto Area and has worked on production for international artists such as Drake, Rihanna, Future, and PartyNextDoor with critically acclaimed music video director, Director X. In 2018 Kelvin directed and produced his first short film, "Tuition," which won numerous awards at both the National Black Film Festival and the International Black Film Festival. In early 2020 Kelvin released his second short film, "A Close Eye," which was nominated at the BronzeLens Film Festival as an Academy Awards qualifying festival for the Short Film Awards. Kelvin has a bachelor's degree from the University of Windsor and a graduate degree from UCLA.
