Born in the small town of Spartanburg, South Carolina, the arts were not prevalent in her upbringing due to the area and opportunities available at the time. Many years later, she and a group of close friends sought to change that by filming and acting in short films created by the group. However, her love of acting, would not come until years later when she was asked by award winning director and friend Johnny Sizemore to read as a stand in for a role in his upcoming series.
It was emphasized that they were still casting for the role, and she was needed as a filler until they found someone. She agreed and two months later was offered the role as Deven Monroe Lawrence in the award winning show Complicated the Series, where she won the Indie Series Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
Not only is she a talented actress, Whitney is an incredible screenwriter which landed her a spot in the writer's room for season 2 of Complicated the Series while still in her current role as an actress on the show. Whitney uses her platform to uplift and encourage others to always be the best version of themselves.
