Stephen Niver is a Writer, Producer, and Director based in Los Angeles, and originally from Warren, Pennsylvania.
After joining the Directors Guild of America in 2003, Niver worked as an Assistant Director and Unit Production Manager on numerous movies and miniseries, and also began establishing himself as a script doctor, before writing the hit Lifetime thrillers "While The Children Sleep" and "Personal Indiscretions".
Niver soon moved on to Producing, including the cult hit miniseries "Shark Swarm", with Daryl Hannah and John Schneider, several films for the Hallmark Channel, including the holiday hit "All I Want For Christmas" and the CAMIE Award-winning "Generation Gap", starring Ed Asner, as well as action films for Spike, including "Depth Charge" and "Sharpshooter". Recent Producing credits include two installments in Fox's hugely-popular "Love Comes Softly" series, "Love Finds A Home", and the CAMIE Award-winning "Love Takes Wing".
Niver also recently penned the reboot of the classic "Porky's" franchise, "Porky's: Pimpin' Pee Wee", and co-produced SyFy's monster hit "Sharktopus", as well as the gory slasher sequel "Chromeskull: Laid to Rest 2".
Currently, Niver has teamed up with Lou Diamond Phillips to produce the adaptation of the Pulitzer-nominated "Tao of Surfing".
He's also just completed the screenplay for "They Kill", the ultra-violent return to horror for the legendary director of "He Knows You're Alone", Armand Mastroianni.
