A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, Kevin T. Collins began his career on the stage at the ripe old age of six, performing throughout his childhood and adolescence across the Bay Area in theaters such as Theatreworks in Palo Alto and San Jose Civic Light Opera, then the American Musical Theater of San Jose.
In 1997, Kevin applied and was accepted to NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, and he then spent three and half years studying at the CAP21 Musical Theater studio, followed by a semester at Stonestreet Film and Television. In 2001, after performing in numerous Tisch productions, including Camelot (Arthur), The Who's Tommy (The Specialist), City of Angels (Stine), and in his cross gendered portayal of Jenny Diver in The Threepenny Opera on the Tisch Mainstage, he graduated with Honors with a BFA in Drama, and began his life in the real world.
Kevin's first professional work took him to the Outer Banks in North Carolina, where he spent two summers performing in Terrence Mann's The Lost Colony, the longest running show in the country (73 consecutive summers at the time). Upon his return to New York, he worked heavily in the Off-Off-Broadway scene, originating roles in new works such as Lucifer in Angels, Beelzebub in Paradise Lost, Chico in One Way Ticket to Hell, Jack/Jenkins in The Gathering Room, Robert in For Love of the Boy, Eddie in The Blonde, Steve in Library Play, 11 characters in Real Live Sex on Stage, and 12 characters in Please Please Please Love Me. His favorite roles include Thenardier in Les Miserables, and Juror Three in Twelve Angry Men.
Shortly after graduating, Kevin also began working regularly in the anime world, voicing lead roles in the japanese series Berserk (Griffith), The Gokusen (on EWAM, Shin), Professor Go in Giant Robo, Ritsu in Hades Project Zeorymer, Aburatsubo in Magic User's Club, Toru in Sadamitsu the Destroyer, Shirogarusu in Samurai Deeper Kyo, Tadaaki Amatsu in Shrine of the Morning Mist, Yagyu in Shura No Toki, Pulse in Twin Signal, Senbei in Ah My Goddess, and most recently in the upcoming Cartoon Network series Huntik, the Nikelodeon show Three Delivery, and the English overdub of the live-action japanese film, The Machine Girl. Kevin's film career began in 2004, and two of his first features, Aunt Rose and ZA: Zombies Anonymous, have been distributed on video and DVD by Anchor Bay Entertainment and Well Go USA, respectively. Some of his other titles include, Tuesday, Black Mary, The Concoction (Winner of the Grand Jury Prize at the Wizard World Texas Film Festival, and the Best Comedy Award at the Wizard World Los Angeles Film Festival), One Step Behind (Winner, Best Picture, the ESRA Film Festival), and three features currently shopping for distribution: Inner Rage, The Sickness, and Inbetween (shot on location in the UK). His most recent film role was opposite Nicole Kidman in Jason Bateman's film The Family Fang.
In the past ten years, Kevin has also made the leap onto the small screen, playing recurring roles on Guiding Light and Law & Order, Guest Starring on Law & Order: Criminal Intent and FBI, and appearing on As the World Turns, Blue Bloods, The Blacklist, Gotham, The Knick, Vinyl, Comedy Central's short-lived sitcom Stella, and the unaired pilots for Pros & Cons for ABC, MTV2's The Williamsburgers, and Exit 19 for CBS (opposite Geena Davis).
And when he isn't making movies or creating characters in new shows, Kevin spends a great deal of time in the recording booth. In the past decade, he has recorded spots for Alliance Credit Union, Verizon, Thai Kitchen Products, Ebay Motors, and H&R Block, and was for a time the voice of Time Warner Cable. Kevin's debut audiobook, Lone Survivor, as well as six of his other books, were awarded Audiofile Earphones Awards for Excellence, and he is also the recipient of the 2011 Audie Award for Beautiful Creatures. He has voiced over 450 titles to date.
Kevin is also a singer/songwriter who released his first album, Crossing to Safety, in 1998, and his second, Inbetween, in 2014. His EP It's Only Life hit stores in 2018.
