TBS’ The Guest Book has booked three new regular residents for Season 2 along with a slew of guest stars. The Turner-owned cable net also has set an October 23 premiere date for the Greg Garcia comedy and released the first trailer; check it out above.

In the small oceanside community of Mabel Beach, vacationers who stay at the Bare Feet Retreat record their confessions, alibis and farewells in the cottage’s guest book. They are hosted by town locals Bodhi, Nikki and Tommy — played respectively by Jimmy Tatro (American Vandal), Kimiko Glenn (Orange Is the New Black), and Dan Beirne (Fargo). The new 10-episode comedy series from My Name Is Earl’s Greg Garcia has added Kellie Martin (Army Wives), Charlie Robinson (Hart of Dixie), Aloma Wright (Suits), Carly Jibson (Broadway's Hairspray), Lou Wilson (Tween Fest), Garret Dillahunt (The Mindy Project), Laura Bell Bundy (Scream Queens) and Eddie Steeples (My Name Is Earl). The anthology-style show, written by Garcia and executive produced by him and Alix Jaffe, will premiere in August.

After almost being cancelled several times on NBC, the network grim reaper finally caught up with the offbeat sitcom last May. But, as expected, ABC came to the rescue and took Scrubs over for season eight. Now, it looks like the doors of Sacred Heart will be closing for real this time... or will they?

Primarily seen through the eyes of intern-then-physician John "J.D." Dorian (Zach Braff), Scrubs centers around a group of egocentric doctors and nurses. Joining him at the hospital are best friend Chris Turk (Donald Faison), driven Elliot Reid (Sarah Chalke), head nurse Carla Espinosa (Judy Reyes), abrasive Doctor Perry Cox (John McGinley), chief of medicine Doctor Bob Kelso (Ken Jenkins), and the hospital's unnamed janitor (Neil Flynn). The big 1999 high school movie marathon continues with "Trippin'", a "Cooley High"-meets-"House Party" teen comedy that may not score high in originality but has promising moments of comic inspiration before slacking off toward the end.

Boosted by a likable performance by Deon Richmond -- a regular on the WB's "Sister Sister" -- this issue under October Films new genre division Rogue Pictures could hook up profitably with a young urban audience, though it might be getting a little late in the semester to attract the targeted demographic.

Richmond demonstrates a nice, light comedic touch as Greg "G" Reed, a daydreaming high school senior who frequently drifts off into amusing, Walter Mitty-type fantasies.

While his parents (Aloma Wright and Harold Sylvester) are getting just a little concerned that he has yet to fill out his college applications, G's got more pressing things on his wandering mind -- namely the high school prom and whether his dream date could ever be the smart, beautiful and highly unattainable Cinny Hawkins (Maia Campbell).

That's pretty much it in the plot department. Fortunately, actor-turned-director David Raynr and screenwriter Gary Hardwick manage to get something a little more substantial out of the humorous characters and the actors portraying them, which also include G's feisty, cholesterol-loving Gramps (Bill Henderson) and his righteous, encouraging teacher Mr. Shapic (Michael Warren, doing a fine tribute to "Room 222"'s Mr. Dixon).

Technical contributions are uniformly smooth, while busy composer Michel Colombier's ("How Stella Got Her Groove Back") laid-back score grooves along agreeably.
