After filming the pilot for Thunder in Paradise (1993), Robin turned down several roles to pursue childhood. She went on to study business and graduated with a major in marketing from the University of Florida. While there, she was a Delta Phi Epsilon sister and lived with her parents, her younger brother and sister and several animals.

In 2009, she worked in marketing and lived with her husband in Plantation, Florida, near her hometown of Fort Lauderdale.

Has a younger sister, Brooke, and a younger brother, Alex, who is a stage actor in Chicago at Northwestern University.

She was Judith Coffman's client at The Acting Studio.
