In 2015, he wins, Best Actor, at the Silwerskerm Film Festival for the critically acclaimed film, Dis ek, Anna. During a Q&A at the Durban International Festival, where Dis ek, Anna debuted, he was asked to explain why he would play a character that could potentially harm his career. He was quoted as saying: "It was very hard to do this film because I'm also a father. But, I'm also an actor. I think if you're not willing to do this part in South Africa, then why the f**k act? If you are not willing to tell stories that matter, then I don't want to be an actor."
In 2017, he plays the part of Hansie Coetzee, in twice-Academy Award nominated director, Roland Joffe's, The Forgiven, opposite Forest Whitaker. He portrays the title role in the South African film, Liewe Kersfeesvader, in 2017 and is Nominated for Best Actor at the Silwerskermfees. He then takes a leading role in, The Harvesters, which is chosen for Official Selection at Cannes Film Festival 2018, where it receives nominations for the Un Certain Regard Award and Golden Camera Award.
Morné Visser has also starred in all three Kissing Booth films for Netflix, playing Mr. Flynn opposite Molly Ringwald's Mrs. Flynn.
In 2022, he takes a leading role in the Netflix series, Justice Served, and wins Best Actor in a TV Drama at the South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTA) 2023. He was also Nominated as Best African Actor at the Septimius Awards 2023 for his work in Justice Served.
In 2023 he plays the Irish American, Killy Donahue, in 4 episodes of HBO's critically acclaimed series, Warrior, Season 3.
