- Her daughter, Stephanie (Samantha's twin), accidentally drowned in their pool when she was 8 months old. They have started the Stephanie Gaetz Keepsafe Foundation (www.keepsafefoundation.com) in Stephanie's memory. Keepsafe is dedicated to reducing the incidence of childhood injury, the leading cause of childhood death in Canada.
- Her children are: Stephanie (deceased), Samantha (twin to Stephanie), Matthew and Scotti. She also has a step-daughter.
