- Ekachai Uekrongtham is a director and writer, known for Beautiful Boxer (2003), Pleasure Factory (2007) and Skin Trade (2014). He has worked in both theatre and film and was one of the founding members of the Singapore ACTION Theatre.
Ekachai Uekrongtham's most famous work was performed in the theatre industry. In 1997, he directed Chang & Eng, a musical based on the lives of one of the most famous pairs of conjoined twins in the world.
He debuted in the world of film with the biographical sports feature Beautiful Boxer (2003), which told the story of a kathoey Muay Thai professional. Ekachai Uekrongtham directed and wrote the production alongside Desmond Sim. It stars Asanee Suwan and Sorapong Chatree.
