Robert grew up in Pittsburgh, PA and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in theatre. After a 5 year run as the Artistic Director of the Fine Line Theatre Co. there he moved to New York to continue to pursue his career as an actor. After playing in a number of off-Broadway productions, Robert landed a recurring role as Bernardo Sandoval on the Guiding Light. That lead to recurring roles on Law and Order and Law and Order SVU. In the meantime he has appeared as a guest star on nearly every TV show shot in New York. Most recently he became part of a comedy ensemble doing short sketches for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. He also appeared on Broadway with Liev Schrieber and Scarlett Johansson in the Tony award winning revival of Arthur Miller's, A View From the Bridge.
