Steven Talmy worked for Amblin Entertainment in the 1980s. He went on to work as an on-set production associate on Back to the Future (1985), The Color Purple (1985), Rainman (1988), Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988), and Always (2nd unit, 1989). He also worked as a personal assistant to filmmaker John Cassavetes (1982) and to Melissa Mathison and Harrison Ford (1982-1984). He is currently a professor at the University of British Columbia.
