On the episode of Gunsmoke - A Game of Death... An Act of Love(1973), Paul Stevens (Cicero Wolfe, the lawyer) suffered a stroke during filming of the courtroom scenes, forcing the producers to postpone the last days of filming for three weeks until Stevens recovered enough to talk. Stevens was partially paralyzed, and was propped up on a cart and filmed in close-up to hide the effects of his illness.
