- Was once engaged to Archie Leach, AKA Cary Grant!.
- Queenie Smith spent many years as high school drama teacher at Hollywood Professional School, which was attended by many professional child actors, dancers, singers, etc.
- Her final film appearance was in Foul Play (1978), where she and Hope Summers were two sweet, elderly ladies playing a hilariously risque game of Scrabble. Sadly, Ms. Smith passed away within a month after the film was released and Ms. Summers passed away the following June.
- Three of Ms. Smith's first four films had a Mississippi River setting ("Masks and Memories", "Mississippi", and the 1936 version of "Show Boat").
