‘Tis better to have loved and lost…? If that’s what you’re selling, Once Upon a Time‘s Regina probably isn’t buying, not so soon after burying another great love.
VideosOnce Upon a Time Finale Sneak Peek: Guess Who’s Coming to Granny’s?
As Lana Parrilla explains in this TVLine Q&A, with Robin Hood’s selfless sacrifice, Regina has not lost just a soul mate, she’s also hemorrhaging hope, which Snow White will be the first to tell you is critical to clutch onto. Is karma at play for the formerly Evil Queen? And for the short term at least,...

The Show | The Wiz Live (Dec. 3, 2015)
The Performance | It’s more than understandable if you went into NBC’s The Wiz Live with some trepidation about its 2 hour and 45 minute running time. After all, that’s careening toward Super Bowl length — with no halftime show to break up the action.

Quite impressively, however, Craig Zadan and Neil Meron’s production zipped on down the road without any lag in energy — thanks to excellent performances, eye-popping costumes and kicky choreography. And an hour and 51 minutes in, the musical got...

Producer Alison Owen says it is “crazy to say the internet is going to kill off movies”.Scroll down for full speech
Alison Owen, managing director of Ruby Film and Television, has used her keynote speech at the BFI London Film Festival to defend the art of movie storytelling and play down the threat of the internet.
Speaking at the Curzon Soho this afternoon, Owen said: “There’s many a Cassandra touting the death of the movie industry. But is that true?
“It is crazy to say the internet is going to kill off movies… The problem is not technology per se but the management of that technology – and the lack of a pervasive business model.”
Using YouTube clips such as “Charlie bit my finger”, Owen said such content was “incredibly simple” and that “people still want good stories”.
“As digital comes of age, there’s going to be more and more demand for content,” she said.

In talking with The Hollywood Reporter, Ryan Murphy said that if Glee gets a fifth season, the show would be "very different." While he avoided getting specific, he said he will probably have a large chunk of the cast staying in the same location.
The end is near for the gang at West Beverly Hills as TVLine revealed that 90210 will end this season. Ratings have been so bad this season the only debate about 90210's future was if it would end this season or if it would get a farewell season like Gossip Girl did.
However, our main reason for suffering through Adrianna's storylines has already found his next role, as Zap2it reports that Trevor Donovan has joined the ABC Family comedy Melissa & Joey as the boy who...

In last night's America's Got Talent two hour Vegas Week finale, it was the standbys turn to compete for the remaining New York slots.
Hawley Magic opened up the magician category with a levitation routine that Howard Stern pointed out might have been more interesting if the duo had done something to prove to the audience that they weren't simply dangling from wires. It was a good point. I totally assumed they were using wires.
Mind reader Giani lost some of the magic when he misheard Sharon Osbourne during his act. He asked her to name a city. She said "Milan" and he heard "Bilan," which Sharon helpfully pointed out isn't a real city after his big reveal. Oops.
I think the real gem in the standby magician group was Jarrett and Raja, who improved so much after their lukewarm audition-- remember the awkward chainsaw/piano routine? Yeah. I'll take...

Terrence Malick's The Tree of Life tops Film Comment's list of the "Best Released Films of 2011," an annual year-end survey of film critics, editors, and past and present contributors — over 120 of them this year — so the magazine has put Kent Jones's beautiful essay from the July/August issue online (even if you don't admire the film as much as he does, you'll know that this is a must-read), and the Film Society of Lincoln Center is screening The Tree of Life through Tuesday.
The "Released" list goes as far as 50; the "Best Unreleased Movies of 2011" list runs to 52. At #1 is Jafar Panahi's This Is Not a Film; #2: Béla Tarr's The Turin Horse. There's been some grumbling among the tweeting set, by the way, that this list is too crowded with films that have scored distribution deals and will indeed be seeing a theatrical run sooner or later.

What all 51 (remember DC? I was kind of hoping it was Puerto Rico instead) 2011 Miss USA candidates had to say about whether evolution should be taught in public schools is almost unbelievable. I never thought so many gorgeous women could become so appallingly unattractive so quickly. Didn't we solve this shit in, like, 1926?
When I watch this video of all 51 Miss USA 2011 competitors answering the question, "Should Evolution Be Taught In Schools?"
This is all I hear:
Madeline Mitchell (Miss Alabama) begins the video with saying, "No, I do not believe in evolution, I do not think it should be taught in schools," to which I am aghast. But then the video goes on to get so much worse. So. Much. Worse.

Vertigo's "A Flight Of Angels" hard cover graphic novel, available November 2, 2011, is written by Holly Black, Bill Willingham, Alisa Kwitney, Louise Hawkes and T. D. Mitchell, conceived and illustrated by Rebecca Guay ("Magic: The Gathering") :
"...Guardians. Messengers. Warriors. Fallen. All these angelic aspects and more are explored in 'A Flight Of Angels', a riveting tale in the tradition of 'The Decameron' and 'The Canterbury Tales'.
"A mysterious 'angel' plummets to Earth and lands deep in a dark forest, where his dying body is found by the mystical denizens of this strange place. As the gathered 'fauns', 'fairies', 'hags' and 'hobgoblins' debate what to do with him, each tells a different story of who they imagine this celestial creature to be: a hero, a lover, a protector or a killer. Once the stories have been told, a verdict is rendered – and the outcome will leave you breathless.
