The producers at New Line Cinema had the opening fatality of Final Destination 3 in their back pocket well before the movie’s 2006 premiere. In fact, talks of a deadly theme park ride made the rounds before creative partners James Wong and Glen Morgan returned to write the script. After the disappointing return on 2003’s Willard, New Line wanted something thrilling for its next horror project. A “roller coaster” movie, as New Line founder Robert Shaye put it. Like-minded Richard Brener is also owed some credit; the executive producer apparently was on the same wavelength after brainstorming ideas — initially anything big and transportational, such as boats and trains — for the intended conclusion of this franchise. However, the overwhelming box-office numbers steered the original plan off course and Death lived on to kill another day.

Lets face it: you already know whether youre going to like this movie or not from the title alone, right? The Asylum Mega- franchise has garnered itself a fair number of fans over the past few years, with high-brow classics such as Mega Piranha and last years super-popular Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus doing the business for Syfy’s viewership by providing an ultra-cheap form of entertainment enjoyed more for its laughable acting and special effects than its stellar writing or innovative filmmaking.
The plot comes straight out of Piranha, with once-thought-extinct goblin sharks emerging from cracks left in the ocean floor after a number of earthquakes, resulting in a flash tsunami that covers the west coast of America with high water, including the titular Malibu. Ahead of the Blu-ray's release, we have trailers and clips from both films, including the iconic blood-drenched prom queen crowning and Rachel's glass-shattering house party interruption.

Sometimes, high school can be a virtual hell. Mileage varies by the individual, of course, but in a place where acceptance at a lunch table can be akin to finding an oasis in a desert, there's more weight on the shoulders of many teens than just their backpack straps. Such is the case for Ewen High School student Carrie White, the telekinetic titular character of Stephen King's seminal debut novel published in 1974.
Carrie has been adapted for the screen multiple times for multiple generations, and Scream Factory is giving the Generation Y versions a high-definition upgrade, with their Carrie and The Rage: Carrie 2 double feature Blu-ray now set to hit shelves with an official release date and bonus features, including two new audio commentaries.

When I first heard about Jen and Sylvia Soska (re: Soska Twins/The Soskas), I admit I had never seen their work. I had zero idea about who they were, or how they had come to Indie Horror prominence, yet once I started hearing their names, it became almost a daily occurrence.
Something about this concerned me, though, because the first thing I heard about them was, “Have you seen 'American Mary'? They're awesome for female Directors! Their stuff can lean a bit extreme feminist at times, but, they're not bad, at all!” – and that didn't quite sit well, with me. When he walked into the room, he nearly blotted out the sun that was peering through the hotel window while shining brightly on the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con. There I was, ready to go one-on-one with the demon Kane, and I managed to come out without a scratch.

One is small, swift, and sinister, and the other is towering, menacing, and brutal. You wouldn’t want to run into either one. Horror movie antagonists Leprechaun and Jacob Goodnight may use different malicious methods, but both are deadly denizens of upcoming films from WWE Studios and Lionsgate. An Sdcc panel and an autograph session featuring Leprechaun: Origins and See No Evil 2 have been announced, and the panel will include an unveiling of the new looks of Leprechaun and Jacob Goodnight.

The follow-up stars Danielle Harris ('Among Friends'), Katharine Isabelle ('American Mary'), Michael Eklund ('The Divide'), Greyston Holt ('Bitten'), Chelan Simmons ('Tucker and Dale vs Evil'), Kaj Eriksen, and Lee Majdoub....

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Danielle Harris, Katharine Isabelle, and Michael Eklund will star in See No Evil 2 and we have the names of four others who have joined the cast. It has been officially announced that Greyston Holt, Chelan Simmons, Kaj Eriksen, and Lee Majdoub will all appear in the horror sequel, directed by Jen and Sylvia Soska.
All of the four new cast members have dabbled in genre projects before, but Chelan Simmons (pictured below) is probably most recognizable for her role in Tucker and Dale vs Evil.
Kane will return as Jacob Goodnight , with production expected to begin this fall. Previously, Variety revealed that the script will be co-written by Nathan Brookes and Bobby Lee Darby, featuring Jacob Goodnight “rising from the dead in the city morgue” after his killing spree at the Blackwell hotel. He’ll be going after “a group of medical students who fight to survive.

Amuse-Bouche: def: \a-’myuz bush\ [Fr. amuse the mouth] 1: a small bite before the meal begins. 2: greeting of the Chef de cuisine
The most important thing that ‘Amuse-Bouche’ does is to show exactly how Will Graham is affected by the shooting of the Minnesota Shrike himself, Garret Jacob Hobbes. They show him crushed by this decision, at a standstill with himself, just outright questioning himself. It’s a great moral quandary for the character because this idea is rarely raised on any shows. Death doesn’t have a weight to it. It just happens. But, here on “Hannibal,” it’s damned devastating as it should be. People are screwed up by it, the serial killers don’t just murder people and enjoy it, they’re just as wracked with the weight of what they do and both sides of...

Ellen Muth was George on that quirky dramedy, Dead Like Me. She was a grim reaper. So it’s only fitting that she pay NBC’s Hannibal a visit. Grim reapers and serial killers have this in common: the both send people to the afterlife.
NBC has already given the upcoming series a little catch phrase. “Detective Will Graham has a killer new partner. Hannibal: The Beginning.” Catchy, yes?
The series will spotlight the special relationship between Special Agent Will Graham, a criminal profiler who hunts serial killers acted by Hugh Dancy, and forensic psychiatrist Dr. Hannibal Lecter, acted by Mads Mikkelsen. Not to gripe, but that catch phrase should then address him as “Agent Will Graham”, right?

Earlier this month, we learned that Bell Media had cancelled The La Complex after two seasons on the air. The low-rated drama aired on The CW here in the states but was produced in Canada.
Word was that The CW was involved in talks about possibly keeping the show going for a third season but we now know that won't happen. The CW has cancelled La Complex as well, according to THR.
The series was sold to nearly 170 territories so the show could potentially continue without the Us and Canada outlets but that seems highly unlikely.
The La Complex revolves around a diverse group of performers who are trying to make it in Hollywood while living in the same apartment complex. The ensemble cast includes Andra Fuller, Benjamin Charles Watson, Cassie Steele, Chelan Simmons, Ennis Esmer, Jewel Staite, Joe Dinicol,...

Gillian Anderson is headed back to television.
The beloved X-Files alum has signed on for an arc on Bryan Fuller’s upcoming Hannibal, the NBC drama that chronicles the early relationship of Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) and FBI agent Will Graham (Hugh Dancy).
According to Entertainment Weekly, Anderson will portray Lecter's therapost, Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier. She will appear on at least three episodes.
“Every therapist needs their own head examined and we are ecstatic that Gillian Anderson has chosen Hannibal to mark her return to American television after 10 years to portray Dr. Lecter’s personal psychiatrist,” Fuller said in a statement. “Her intelligence and sophistication, not to mention her pedigree of ground-breaking TV, make her the perfect actress to match wits and psychological manipulations with one of the greatest villains of pop culture. I couldn’t be more excited.”

Bell Media has reportedly cancelled The La Complex after two seasons on the air. The low-rated drama may see a third season on The CW however.
The La Complex revolves around a diverse group of performers who are trying to make it in Hollywood while living in the same apartment complex. The ensemble cast includes Andra Fuller, Benjamin Charles Watson, Cassie Steele, Chelan Simmons, Ennis Esmer, Jewel Staite, Joe Dinicol, and Jonathan Patrick Moore.
Six episodes were ordered for the first season and then, before they had aired here in the States, Bell ordered a second season of 13 episodes. According to THR, the ratings for season two were down in Canada so the broadcaster has opted not to order any more.
"Unfortunately the performance of the show was not strong enough for Much to be able to order another season,"...
