David Robertson, A native New Yorker, credits movement as the reservoir from which he draws his creative energy. He began his professional training at acclaimed high school of Performing Arts. At age sixteen he made his Broadway debut in the musical The Wiz.
He also worked as a choreographer on The Fighting Temptations, an MTV and Paramount Picture production starring Cuba Gooding, Jr. and Beyoncé. Another film credit is the Feature entitled Hair Show, which starred Mo'Nique and Taraji P. Henson from the hit TV series Empire. David has worked closely with Debbie Allen on several projects including the 61ST-63RD Annual Academy Awards.
Robertson recently directed two musicals, The Wiz and Miss Saigon at the Irvington Townhouse Theater in Westchester. Looking toward the future, David Robertson welcomes new evolutions to become a multi- faceted creative artist. Directing and Producing his first Documentary on Choreographer Louis Johnson, he nobly adds the title of filmmaker to his illustrious career.
