"Let me prove to you that I can do it." Studiocanal UK has debuted the official UK trailer for a Germany comedy film titled My Blind Date with Life, or originally Mein Blind Date mit dem Leben in German. The film tells the true story of a student who nearly became blind as a teenager. He keeps his limited eye sight a secret and starts working at a hotel in Munich, soon falling in love with a woman. Kostja Ullmann stars as the lead character Saliya Kahawatte, with a cast including Anna Maria Mühe, Nilam Farooq, Sylvana Krappatsch, Ludger Pistor, Johann von Bülow, and Herbert Forthuber. This looks like a very cheesy German romantic comedy, but there's a heartwarming story behind it all. That said, this doesn't seem like it will be good. At least you can get a glimpse at what campy German comedies are like - have fun.

Oh, that Quentin Tarantino, he knows subtlety like I know romantic comedies, and I know romantic comedies like no one’s business. Check out the latest poster for Qt’s “Inglourious Basterds”, which features a gun-toting Brad Pitt standing on a pile of dead Nazi bodies. I think they’re trying to say something with this poster, but I can’t just put my finger on it… In Nazi-occupied France during World War II, a group of Jewish-American soldiers known as “The Basterds” are chosen specifically to spread fear throughout the Third Reich by scalping and brutally killing Nazis. The Basterds soon cross paths with a French-Jewish teenage girl who runs a movie theater in Paris which is targeted by the soldiers. Starring Brad Pitt, Cloris Leachman, Diane Kruger, Mike Myers, B.J. Novak, Eli Roth, Samm Levine, Til Schweiger, Michael Fassbender, Julie Dreyfus, Daniel Brühl, Rod Taylor, Mélanie Laurent, Jacky Ido,...

Til Schweiger is a German actor who co-stars in Quentin Tarantino’s WWII movie “Inglourious Basterds” as member of Brad Pitt’s American fighting crew who goes to Nazi-occupied France and scalps German soldiers. Hmm, I wonder what a psychiatrist would say about that? Oh well, beats starring in Uwe Boll movies, right, Til? I love that name, by the way. Til Schweiger. Sounds like a girl. A weak, skinny, nerdy girl. Til Schweiger is anything but. Nice machinegun, bro. There’s gonna be more of these “Inglourious Basterds” character posters popping up in the coming days, so I’m not going to spend too much text writing up each one. After all, you can only misspell bastards on purpose so many times before you want to punch yourself in the face. So, here’s the latest, with Eli Roth. More will be coming, I’m sure. This one via The Quentin Tarantino Archive. Starring Brad Pitt, Cloris Leachman, Diane Kruger, Mike Myers, B.J. Novak, Eli Roth, Samm Levine, Til Schweiger, Michael Fassbender, Julie Dreyfus, Daniel Brühl, Rod Taylor, Mélanie Laurent, Jacky Ido, Paul Rust, Omar Doom, Ludger Pistor, Christoph Waltz, Michael Bacall, directed by Quentin Tarantino, and due out August 21, 2009.

Whoa, check out the huge honkin’ scar along Brad Pitt’s character in Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglourious Basterds”. Wonder what’s the story there, and is that the reason why Pitt’s character Lt. Aldo Raine is so obsessed with scalpin’ them Nazis? (It’s either that, or because Nazis ain’t got no humanity!) Here’s a new “Basterds” poster featuring Raine, sporting that clear as day ugly scar. Ouch, looks like it still hurts.
