Daughter Mitasha Paintal married Vik Samra. Vik is the son of actor Jagdarshan Samra. Jagdarshan is married to Dolly Samra (Sister of Parkash Deol, Dharmendra's wife).Mitasha is now settled in Surrey, British Columbia Canada . Jagdarshan other son Raj Samra ( Sunny Deol's cousin) was to debut as an actor in the film "Kahi Hain Woh Aas Paas" (2006). It was a slick murder mystery .The film is completed and unreleased due to financial problems with the producers. The film starred Raj Samra, Nirmal Pandey,Mukesh Tiwari,Vishwajeet Pradhan. Raj Samra has since given up his ambition to become a actor and is based in Toronto,Ontario,Canada.

His father, who was part of Pancholi Arts in Lahore before Partition, encouraged Paintal throughout. He was a cameraman before, and since he was unable to get a break in the film industry, he set up a photography shop instead. He bought an eight mm movie camera and would shoot home movies, with Paintal as the model.
