On first glance, horror and wrestling make strange bedfellows; one offers catharsis through bloodshed and plot twists and the other…okay, scratch that. They pretty much trigger the same responses in the viewer, which is harmless fun. So where are all the wrestling themed horror flicks, or vice versa? Well now thanks to Intervision Picture Corporation, we have one – Masked Mutilator, a film that sat in a cool dry basement for 25 years before being unearthed, polished up, and released in a slammin’ new Blu with tons of extras.
Yes, the film was shot in 1994 and not released until now; it’s not a matter of embarrassment on the filmmakers’ behalf, but rather that old chestnut of lack of completion funds that kept it shelf bound for so long. Luckily executive producer Dale Schneck had the reels in his cellar, and reached out to a local university to help transfer the...

Best Moment:
The Fallen Angel Rises (Ring Of Honor) – Even though Christopher Daniels has signed with All Elite Wrestling, Daniels was given a segment dedicated to having a new contract be offered to him. Daniels has been positioned as a fighter who proved his worth in the ring by showing he was an honorable man when it counted most.

André Roussimoff’s life was so dominated by size that in “Andre the Giant,” the documentary about his life and career as a professional wrestler, he’s introduced by his feet. Just walking along, you can see that his shoes dwarf those of the person walking with him. Much of Jason Hehir’s film, premiering this week on HBO, centers on that idea — that this man who stood over 7 feet tall was larger than any life could give him.
Roussimoff’s public persona has been well-documented. As a public figure, cultural icon, and (as the film posits) at one point one of the most famous people in the entire world, Andre the Giant was recognizable simply by existing. The value in a biographical portrait of a mammoth, beloved figure like this is to provide context for the man himself, the life outside the ring.

I decided to take a break in 2006 in order to pay off some student debts and let my bank balance recover a little. Shortly after making that decision, WWE announced that Bret Hart would be inducted into the Hall of Fame during WrestleMania 22 weekend. I wish I’d seen the ceremony that year (featuring the inductions of Hart, Sensational Sherri, Gene Okerlund and Eddie Guerrero) but in terms of WrestleMania 22 itself, I was Ok to give the show a miss that year.

The questions isn’t whether Dwayne Johnson will be a good host (since he excelled during his first two times in Studio 8H), but whether or not “Saturday Night Live” can finally start regaining some of the momentum that propelled it through its Fall run. That was possibly the strongest stretch during my five years covering the show here at HitFix, but 2015 has been marked by less-than-stellar episodes and a less-than-ideal production schedule. As such, “SNL” has been spotty both in terms of quality and production. But maybe tonight will be a turning point as the show heads into this season’s home stretch. As always, I’ll be liveblogging each segment in real time. I’ll give that segment a grade. I highly encourage you to not stress too much about the grades. The Rock Obama will get angry if you stress about the grades. See you at 11:...

Known for his signature finishing move the Ddt, and for coming into the ring with his pet snake Damien, Jake The Snake Roberts was one of the most colorful performers in the classic era of the World Wrestling Federation. But his life outside of the ring was far different than what his fans knew. Battles with drug and alcohol addiction wreaked havoc with his personal life and eventually his professional life. Now the story of his greatest battle of all is told in the upcoming documentary "The Resurrection Of Jake The Snake" premiering at the Slamdance Film Festival. Directed by Steve Yu and featuring any wrestling fan's dream array of talent including Scott Hall (aka Razor Ramon), Stone Cold Steve Austin, Chris Jericho, Ted Dibiase, Adam Copeland (aka Edge), Gene Okerlund, Jim Duggan (aka Hacksaw Jim Duggan), Jim Ross and Jerry Mires (aka J-Rocc), the film chronicles the relationship between...

The menacing silhouette of a Jason Vorhees or Michael Myers in the distance slowly, intently, stalking their prey with the backdrop of chilling music is scarier than their brutal methods of murder. Inevitably the build-up is better than the final crescendo itself.
Planting the seed of impending doom and not necessarily seeing it is a brand of horror we looked at in our Top 10 Physiological Horror Films and is one being used more often. But forget about horror icons like Freddy Kruger and his knife wielding buddies – some of films most foreboding figures nowadays come in a much smaller package.
Here we take a look at six of the creepiest dolls that may look cute but are anything but.
Saw – Billy
With a total of eight films in the Saw franchise, slowly but surely we came to realise that it wasn’t Tobin Bell’s Jigsaw who is the creepy posterboy of the films.

SummerSlam is WWE’s biggest show outside of WrestleMania, it’s an August tradition that’s been running for 27 years now. Along the way we’ve had plenty of great matches and moments — but also a great deal of legitimate controversy.
You might in fact describe SummerSlam as WWE’s most controversial event ever. There always seems to be some sort of issue burning up backstage, whether it’s a creative problem, a botched spot, personal bitterness or financial dispute. We’ll detail all of those backstage insights in this feature, shedding light on the SummerSlam moments that had Vince McMahon fuming. The irony is that some of these controversies actually made SummerSlam more interesting. The drama on screen is always entertaining, but there’s nothing wrestling fans love more than a bit of real drama! There’s been many backstage and on-screen incidents that provoked...

As we have seen from the backstage happenings in 1993, sometimes the biggest stories in WWF/E happen off screen rather than on screen. We learned about how Shawn Michaels quit the WWF, how Vince McMahon’s first stint as a heel was in the Uswa, who the second Doink was, and that Hulk Hogan called the WWF Championship a toy.
Moving on to the next installment of this series, we take a look at 1994. On screen, this was the year that Bret Hart reclaimed his spot at the top of the company, and Owen Hart was brought to the forefront as one of the biggest heels in the company. Macho Man, Bobby Heenan, and Mean Gene Okerlund left the WWF and joined Hulk Hogan in WCW. And at the end of the year, Diesel scored one of the more shocking and unexpected WWF Championship victories in history.
All of this we know.

Whenever somebody gets announced as an inductee in the WWE Hall of Fame, there’s always a question of whether or not that person deserves to be in there. When it comes to the late great Paul Bearer, there should be no question. He is definitely a WWE Hall of Famer.
It was announced officially on this Monday’s edition of Raw that Bearer will be inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame. As most fans know, Bearer (real name William Moody) passed away on March 5, 2013. It’s fitting that nearly on the one year anniversary of his passing that he’ll be recognized with an honor like the WWE Hall of Fame.
Bearer was known to wrestling fans as the manager, as well as the biggest ally, of The Undertaker. When Undertaker started in WWE, it wasn’t with Bearer right away, but they brought him in because...

It's a very special episode of "WWE Raw," as WWE turns back the clock to take things old school. That means a retro arena design, an old ring and several returning legends to delight the fans.
Scheduled to appear on the show are "The Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase, Bob Backlund, Roddy Piper, Ric Flair, The New Age Outlaws, IRS, Ron Simmons, Scotty 2 Hotty and Diamond Dallas Page. Of course, WWE always trots out quite a few surprises on these special episodes as well, so there's no telling what they have in store.
There's also the ongoing story lines, leading up to the "Royal Rumble." Daniel Bryan will debut as part of the Wyatt Family, Brock Lesnar is back, Cm Punk continues to make The Shield look like fools, and John Cena and Randy Orton return after missing last week's show.

Michael Cole. The hatred I possess for this man knows no bounds and continues to grow with every week he is on air. May the powers that be prevent me from taking control of a nuclear arsenal in the near future. Because at that rate, I should be just about ready to nuke the entire planet and commit mass genocide of the human race just to get his nasal, whiny little voice off the airwaves for good.

WWE asked for and got fan input to determine the content of “The 25 Greatest Rivalries” Blu-ray and DVD, and, unlike the weekly Twitter/WWE App votes on Raw which most of us net fans suspect are rigged, fan input clearly shows in the final cut. Granted there are classic feuds I personally wish had made the cut, but as a wrestling fan since I was 10, I’m overall very happy and legitimately surprised by not only the feuds that Do appear, but the order they’re in.
A couple years ago when the ‘E released their “50 Greatest Superstars Of All Time” DVD, a lot of us fans in the Iwc, (Internet Wrestling Community for the uninitiated), accused the doc of being blatantly skewed to stars who were either currently with the E, or had predominantly been mostly with the E, throwing in a few token guys who weren’t really WWE guys.
