Åke was married to actress Birgit Chenon and then in 1937 he was
remarried to actress Peggy (Kerstin) Lindberg until his death in 1975.
They had two children, a daughter Ingert and a son Anders.
He collected carpets.
He first studied at Lorensgergsteatern 1926-1927 then he worked for
Skådebanans turnesällskap in 1928-1929. After that he worked for
Helsingborgsstadsteater. Then he moved back to Stockholm and first
joined Oscarsteatern and then Gösta Ekmans Vasateatern.
