In William Shatner's film "Star Trek V: The Final Frontier," the U.S.S. Enterprise is hijacked by a hippie Vulcan cult leader named Sybok (Laurence Luckinbill) and flown to the very center of the Milky Way. In reality, the galaxy's center is the site of a supermassive black hole called Sagittarius A*. In "Frontier," Sybok believes it's where God lives. Not a spiritual conduit to God, mind you, but the actual physical body of God Himself. Kirk (Shatner) and Spock (Leonard Nimoy) think Sybok is mad, but are dragged along in his mad scheme.
When the Enterprise arrives at its destination, however, it seems for a few moments that Sybok is right. He and the Enterprise crew encounter and land on a mysterious planet, and God Himself (George Murdock) appears. Everyone is awestruck ... except for Kirk. When God asks the mortal characters for a starship to spread His Word,...

Here’s something I never expected to see: I ran to the blaxploitation attraction Willie Dynamite because I like actress Diana Sands, and it’s her last picture in a too-short career. But the main character on view, a gaudy fur-wearing pimp, is played by none other than Roscoe Orman, well known to a couple of generations of kids as none other than ‘Gordon’ in the long-running TV show Sesame Street. It’s like watching MisterRogers play Hannibal Lecter!

Blaxploitation movies have a strange place in movie history. Often nostalgically looked at as being cool and oozing in style, they also have an exploitative feel to them, hence the name. Willie Dynamite is a so-called Blaxploitation movie that looked to do something different, which in some regard puts it at conflict with itself…
Willie Dynamite (Roscoe Orman) is a pimp at the height of his success. Making money and having a successful group of ladies under his control he is living the dream. When crooked cops start to take down his empire and the other pimps start to steal his territory, is it time for him to change his ways?

George Murdoch, who was formerly billed as Brodus Clay in WWE and currently wrestles as Tyrus for Tna Wrestling, recently took part in an interview with The Two Man Power Trip Of Wrestling.
During the interview, Murdoch was asked to reflect upon his time spent with WWE.
Murdoch was questioned about performers not being given the opportunity to break-through and excel in WWE. His response was interesting, to say the least.
You see it happen all the time in the WWE. Guys who should no doubt be on the top of the card and be main eventers. Guys like Cesaro. There is no reason why he shouldn’t be on his second World Title run, guys like Jack Swagger, Big E the list goes on and on of guys that are there right now that could change the game. The Triple H factory as I call it seems...

James' Star Trek Tng season 3 look-backs conclude with a justifiable classic: Best Of Both Worlds...
This review contains spoilers.
3.26 Best Of Both Worlds
The Enterprise arrives at Jouret IV to respond to a distress call. Unfortunately, once they arrive, they find that there's a smouldering crater where the colony used to be. Has O'Brien made another mistake with the co-ordinates, they wonder? But no, to their astonishment, he was correct. The colony Is gone. And Starfleet thinks the Borg is responsible.
With this in mind, Starfleet dispatches chief desk-jockey Admiral Hanson and Borg tactical specialist Lieutenant Commander Shelby to the Enterprise. Apparently it's been her job to figure out ways to defeat the inevitable Borg attack (she's presumably well-positioned to do so having never seen a Borg, much less fought one. This might explain why they later admit all their Borg super-weapons are 18 months from being finished.)
Shelby and Riker are dismissed,...

With Star Trek into Darkness looming only a couple weeks away, Paramount is unleashing a load of Star Trek discs onto the market. Some of them – like all of the films – have seen high definition before with previous Blu-ray releases. However, the more impressive assortment of choices come from the newly remastered television series. Season Three of Star Trek: The Next Generation is the latest year to get that treatment. However, that season ends in one of the biggest cliffhangers in television history, and that can be frustrating. To offset any ill will, the two-part season finale and season premiere “The Best of Both Worlds” is also available packaged as a single movie. The remastered version of these two episodes also comes with a commentary track, giving some insight into one of the most popular episodes of the series. Star Trek: The Next Generation – The Best of Both Worlds (1990) Commentators: Cliff Bole (director), Elizabeth Dennehy (actor, Lt...

What does God need with a starship? That's what Capt. Kirk asked the creature living in the center of the universe in 1989's "Star Trek V: The Final Frontier" played by longtime character actor George Murdock. Murdock, who also made appearances in "The X-Files" and the original "Battlestar Galactica," died April 30 in Los Angeles. He was 81. Murdock appeared in five episodes of "Battlestar Galactica" in the late 1970s as Dr. Salik in episodes that seemed to always have something to do with gods: "The War of the Gods, Part 1" and both parts of "Lost Planets of the Gods" among others. That's probably why it was such an easy transition for Murdock to play the "God" in "Star Trek V," trying to convince Kirk to bring the Enterprise closer to him so that he could use it to get off that planet. Although ...
