Mark Mocahbee's career in theatre, film television has spanned over 25
years. As a theatre director, reviews of his work have appeared in
numerous national publications, including Time Magazine's Top Ten Plays
of 1994 for the world premiere of Brad Fraser's "Poor Super Man", under
his direction. Over that time he has been fortunate to work with a
diverse group of artists such as Edward Albee, Rebecca Miller, Lee
Blessing, Michael Weller, Brad Fraser, Dustin Hoffman, Joe Pesci,
Stanley Tucci, Keanu Reeves, Kristin Linklater, Jon Jory and Jacque
Lecoq. For six years he was a comedy writer for The Gary Burbank Show,
the popular nationally syndicated afternoon drive time radio program
broadcast on Clear Channel.
In the spring of 2007 he graduated from the University of Miami with a B.S. in Communication as Outstanding Motion Picture Student of The Year and was one of only five students profiled in the 2007 Spring Commencement Ceremony. His films and screenplays have won numerous awards and screened at festivals in both Europe and the United States. In 2007 a front page article in The Miami Herald profiled him and a group of students he formed to explore the rapidly expanding landscape of New Media, how to monetize content and incorporate these lessons into University curriculum. He also spoke and was a presenter at the We Media Conference at the University of Miami in 2007.
Mark has served on the faculties of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, Xavier University and Miami University at Oxford, teaching acting, directing, voice and movement in both the undergraduate and graduate programs. His regional theatre credits include the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Stage Group Theatre, Actors Theatre of Louisville, The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Shakespeare & Company, and Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati (where he served as Resident Director for six years).
