Michael Kiu Wai Miu

Michael Kiu Wai Miu was born on June 18, 1958 in Ningbo, China, a small town outside of Shanghai. At the age of 6, Miu and his mother migrated to Hong Kong where he grew up, and shortly after high school, became one of the most popular young Asian actors of the 1980's. Miu trained at the TVB Development Program for Performing Arts alongside Tony Leung Tony Leung Chiu-wai, Andy Lau Andy Lau, Felix Wong Felix Wong and Kent Tong Kent Tong - and together, the group was known as "The Five Tigers". Miu immediately rose to stardom in 1983 following his debut as a lead in the iconic Hong Kong television drama, The Legend of the Condor Heroes (The Legend of the Condor Heroes (1983)). After taking a decade-long hiatus in the 1990's, Miu has come back in full force and has become a household name in Hong Kong, China, all around the Asia-Pacific region and among immigrant Asian communities worldwide. More recently, he is known for his work on The White Storm 2: Drug Lords (2019) opposite Andy Lau, and hit TV shows Line Walker: Bull Fight (2020) and Flying Tiger (2018). He has been married to actress Jaime Mei-Chun Chik since 1990. They have two children, Murphy Miu and actress Phoebe Miu.
