Ahrin Mishan was born in Ohio to a flower-child mother who made up both
his first and last names. He is an award-winning composer with a
master's degree in Film and Anthropology from USC and has studied music
in China, Tibet, India and Southeast Asia. In 1998, he was awarded the
Georges Delerue Prize for Film Music (shared with Simon Fisher Turner)
for his score to "Claire Dolan", an award whose past recipients include
Howard Shore, Tan Dun, Rachel Portman and Ry Cooder. He divides his
time between New York, Los Angeles and Asia.
