Just when you thought Sharknado and its sequel were the epitomy of the ridiculous “creature feature” along comes a new short film directed By Pat Longstreth and Rob McLean, the fantastically monikered Hellyfish, which is an official selection of September’s DC Shorts Film Festival.

America’s only missing nuclear weapon is leaking radioactive material into the ocean just off the coast of Tybee Island, Ga. The trifling existence of a hapless cast is disrupted by a vicious force of nature that shows no mercy.

If you’re the sort of person who thinks that movies should be serious, artful, and tastefully crafted, then you’re about to experience something that will shatter your entire day. Below you’ll find the trailer for “Hellyfish,” a bizarre little creature feature from Pat Longstreth and Rob MacLean. Depending on your taste, it’s either indescribably awesome or downright pathetic. The movie looks like something that the boys and girls at The Asylum would have cooked up in their spare time.
