Despite being one of the longest-running live-action sitcoms of all time, you don't hear much about "My Three Sons" anymore. The series ran for an impressive 12 seasons beginning in 1960, producing 380 episodes of wholesome sitcom scenarios during a decade of tremendous upheaval. "The real world was quite tumultuous and revolution was in the air," star Barry Livingston told CBS News in a 2009 retrospective, "and we were still eating Uncle Charley's cookies and having milk."
"My Three Sons" doesn't have the enduring legacy of more thought-provoking shows of the '60s and '70s, like "M*A*S*H" and "The Twilight Zone," nor is it typically mentioned in the same breath as all-time-great comedies like "I Love Lucy" and "The Dick Van Dyke Show." Despite the show's absence from most abridged versions of TV history, though, it still connected with audiences in its time: the series about a widower raising three sons as a...

Largely rejected upon its release back in 1987, the live-action film adaptation of Masters of the Universe (watch it Here) has gathered a cult following over the decades, and elements of the film have even been worked into the recent animated Netflix shows Masters of the Universe: Revelation and Masters of the Universe: Revolution. On April 17th, Umbrella Home Entertainment in Australia will be giving the film a collector’s edition Blu-ray release – and copies are available for pre-order Here! (Just make sure you have the ability to play Region B Blu-rays before ordering one.)

J.R. was waiting in line with maybe 200 fellow fans to spend a moment getting the autograph of – and perhaps taking a selfie with – Christina Ricci, the actress who made her debut in the “Addams Family” movies in the 1990s who is now an Emmy-nominated star on the Showtime series “Yellowjackets” as well as a regular on Netflix’s “Wednesday.” The setting on Saturday was the Hollywood Autograph Show at the Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel, a three-times-a-year movie and memorabilia event where fans can come to lay eyes on some old-time celebrity favorites, get their name in ink, pose for a selfie and maybe pick up a book or vintage photograph.
Eighty or so celebrities staked out tables to sign their name and pix for a fee. J.R. was one of those who got hooked on attending these shows a few years back and now never misses one.

This is Day 82 of the SAG-AFTRA strike.
There’s solidarity in the air in LA with a slew of writers continuing to join the actors’ picket lines after securing their own deal with the AMPTP.
As talks between SAG-AFTRA and the studio alliance restart, the picket lines, now focused on the actors requests, are still busy and, as seen this morning, full of “cautious optimism.”
Two and a Half Men star Jon Cryer, whose upcoming NBC comedy Extended Family has shot the first six episodes, told Deadline, “The writers got real progress. I have constantly voiced my frustration with the AMPTP for not starting the negotiations a lot sooner. But it’s better than nothing.”
He added that he’s preparing himself for a deal “however long it takes.”
His biggest worry about the future of the entertainment industry, as it pertains to actors, is the “hollowing out of the industry.

"This isn't about being pro-war, this is about being pro-money!" Warner Bros has unleashed the second trailer for a comedy called War Dogs (previously known as Arms and the Dudes), starring Jonah Hill and Miles Teller as two kids who become drug runners selling weapons to various governments (including the Us military). The full cast includes Bradley Cooper, Ana de Armas and Barry Livingston. The first trailer for this promised a hilarious and ridiculous comedy, and this new trailer ups the ante with even more craziness. I like the way this trailer is put together, the opening is engaging, the snap cuts are effective, the footage is amusing, great music, I'm totally sold on this movie. I just hope it's as funny as it looks. Fire it up. Here's the second official trailer (+ poster) for Todd Phillips' War Dogs, direct from WB's YouTube: You can still watch the first trailer for War Dogs here,...

Okay I admit it, I'm a showtunes queen! I love Broadway and musicals, good musicals, that is. And I think "Jersey Boys" is a good musical. The rugs-to-riches tale of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons is captivating and the soundtrack rocks!
And now comes the inevitable movie version, and to be honest? It actually looks good! Director Clint Eastwood added some grittiness to the Broadway gloss and voila -- a musical that will steal our hearts this summer, June 20th to be exact! Oh, plus points for adding Christopher Walken to the mix! Will he sing? Or at least dance?
Take a look at the new "Jersey Boys" trailer and then sing with the soundtrack:

Chicago – The TV show “Get Smart,” which had its original run on the NBC network from 1965-1970, was an oddball classic. Created by Mel Brooks and Buck Henry, the sitcom was a goofy satire on cold war politics of the 1960s, with a hapless operative named Maxwell Smart (Don Adams) working for the Control agency, spying against a foreign menace called Kaos. Barbara Feldon (Agent 99) and Bernie Kopell (Sigfried) were part of the supporting cast.
Feldon and Kopell were also part of The Hollywood Show, a two day gathering of favorite TV and movie stars to meet fans and sign autographs. Chicago – To answer the musical question, “Baby, if you ever wondered, wondered whatever became of me?” there is the sublime Loni Anderson, who portrayed Jennifer Marlowe on the popular 1970s sitcom, “Wkrp in Cincinnati.” Anderson was an attendee of “The Hollywood Show,” which comes to Chicago again on September 7th and 8th, 2013.
Loni Anderson is much like her character on Wkrp – luminous, intelligent and with a unique perspective. She climbed the show business ladder herself, after having a first marriage and a child in her teens. After that marriage ended before her 21st birthday, she finished college at the University of Minnesota and started an acting career, taking roles on stage and in local and national commercials. After moving to Los Angeles in 1975, she dyed her jet black hair to blonde, and began a series of high profile appearances on familiar dramas and comedies of the era, including “The Bob Newhart Show” and “Police Woman.

Thousand Oaks, Calif. (AP) — Don Grady, who was one of television's most beloved big brothers as Robbie Douglas on the long-running 1960s hit "My Three Sons," died Wednesday. He was 68.
His "My Three Sons" co-star Barry Livingston, who played youngest brother Ernie, confirmed Grady's death to The Associated Press. Livingston said Grady had been suffering from cancer and receiving hospice care at his home in Thousand Oaks, Calif. But the exact cause and place of death were not immediately clear.
"It's the oldest cliche in the world when TV brothers start referring to each other like biological brothers, but he was the oldest, and somebody I looked up to and learned from a great deal about life," Livingston said.
Born in San Diego as Don Louis Agrati, Grady had a brief stint singing and dancing on "The Mickey Mouse Club" starting at age 13.

Hostel: Part III will be released on DVD next week and I recently had the opportunity to speak with director Scott Spiegel about the film. For those unfamiliar with Scott’s work, he’s no stranger to horror or the Hostel franchise. He served as producer on both Hostel and Hostel: Part II, was co-writer of Evil Dead 2 and has directed Intruder and From Dusk Till Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money.
Scott and I talked about moving the Elite Hunting Club to Las Vegas, Eli Roth’s earlier idea for a new Hostel film, my favorite death scene from the movie, and the possibility of Hostel: Part IV.
**Spoiler Warning- While the interview is mostly spoiler-free, the interview does discuss death scenes and minor plot items**
Was the idea for Hostel: Part III something you pitched to Sony or did they approach you?
Scott Spiegel: They came to me.

The Eli Roth-less 'Hostel: Part III' hits DVD and digital download later this month courtesy of Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Scott Spiegel helms the third movie in the torturous trilogy which moves the action from Eastern Europe all the way slap-bang into Las Vegas. A stackathon of new stills from the threequel have popped over at Dread Central but gore-hounds may be disappointed that none of them are particularly revealing in the 'sickening' department so we guess you'll just have to pick up the DVD at the end of the month. Kip Pardue ('Stag Night'), Thomas Kretschmann ('Transsiberian'), John Hensley, Sarah Habel, Barry Livingston, Kelly Thiebaud (below), Brain Hallisay, Skyler Stone, Danny Jacobs, Chris Coy, Alicia Vela-Bailey and Gordon Michaels all star. Check out just some of the new stills and DVD artwork below. You can head over to the Dread Central link below for the rest!

Hostel 3 Trailer. Scott Spiegel‘s Hostel: Part III (2011) movie trailer, produced by Eli Roth, stars Thomas Kretschmann, Kip Pardue, John Hensley, Sarah Habel, and Barry Livingston. Hostel: Part 3‘s plot synopsis: “High stakes gambling takes on a sinister new meaning in this third chapter of the terrifying Hostel series. While attending a bachelor party in Las Vegas, four friends are enticed by two sexy escorts to join them at a private party way off the Strip. Once there, they are horrified to find themselves the subjects of a perverse game of torture, where members of the Elite Hunting Club are hosting the most sadistic show in town.”
The first Hostel was good but I wish the original, more brutal ending had not been excised from the film. The second and third acts of Hostel: Part II were a disappointment but I liked what Eli Roth tried to do with the film.

And now in keeping with trailer Friday it's time to take a look at the first new trailer for the third installment that'll likely keep gore-hounds happy over the seasonal period. The trailer features gambling, drinking and topless strippers shaking their stuff, the usual Vegas feel and then of course the inevitable 'lights out' gas and the subsequent torturing ensues. The Scott Spiegel helmed follow-up 'Hostel: Part III' appears that its going to be hitting DVD this December. So obviously no theatrical faith in the movie following director Eli Roth's previous two efforts then. But in spite of the odd release month thats rumoured the movie looks like it's set in Vegas and not in keeping with its Slovakian-based predecessors. We're not really sure just what this follow-up is going to be like but it looks to us like it's using the typical horror switcheroo for the third chapter which usually changes just about everything but still clings on to the main theme which in this case would be torture and gore. Kip Pardue ('Stag Night'), Thomas Kretschmann ('Transsiberian'), John Hensley, Sarah Habel, Barry Livingston, Kelly Thiebaud (below), Brain Hallisay, Skyler Stone, Danny Jacobs, Chris Coy, Alicia Vela-Bailey and Gordon Michaels all star.

Hostage in Castle with Nathan Fillion

But the actor playing Ernie is all grown up now. Barry Livingston is 52 and going to be guest starring in the October 31 episode of Castle. Unfortunately, it doesn’t sound like much of a Halloween episode, which is just a tragedy.

He was the nerdy one. He wasn’t the dreamy older brotherRobbie (that was Don Grady) and he wasn’t the kind of everyman-ish brother Chip(played by his real-life sib Stanley Livingston). But being one of TV’s mostfamous geeks doesn’t seem to have slowed him down a bit.
Since My Three Sons ended, all the TV brothers have gone onto do some interesting things. Don wrote the theme song to The Phil DonahueShow.

Hamsterdam, MD - News at 4:20. As part of the celebration for the upcoming season of Weeds, Glick University polled over 4,000 Americans about what TV News personalities they wanted to see get high during a broadcast.
Naturally there were ground rules including the disqualifications of news organizations that contain notorious on air potheads. This meant no votes were collected for the cast of The Daily Show, Colbert Report and Fox and Friends. You think Steve Doocey is sober? Hard to think that any of those folks have eyes that aren’t pied 24-7.
10, Bill O’Reilly (Fox News) had a lot of folks who reacted that it’d be like, “Dude, I’m getting high with dad.” Of course this initial elation is cut down with the horrifying fact of “Dude, I’m getting high with dad and it’s just not someone I need to party with.”

For fans of classic television, there's a unique opportunity for you to listen to, and perhaps even talk to, three members of the Douglas family from My Three Sons!
The beloved sitcom initially revolved around widower Steve Douglas (Fred MacMurray) and his three boys; Mike (Tim Considine), Robbie (Don Grady), and Chip (Stanley Livingston). They were all kept in line by grumpy Uncle Bub (William Frawley), the boy's maternal grandfather.
Bub eventually moves to Ireland because Frawley was supposedly too ill to be insured and had to be let go. Thankfully, Bub's brother Charley (William Demarest) steps in to take his place.
Around the same time, Mike gets married and moves away. Soonafter, Steve adopts Chip's young orphan friend, Ernie (Barry Livingston), and there were three sons in the house (and opening credits) once again.
My Three Sons ran for an amazing 380 episodes and 12 seasons. It's also one...
