Ted was a very humorous first assistant director and working as the second assistant on the Edger Wallace and Edgar Lustgarten mysteries I learnt that it was possible to control the floor, keep a focus for everyone and yet make the atmosphere fun. With the endless feed of cockney rhyming slang from the camera dolly grip, Bert Habbitch, Ted, with his gravelly voice, lean face and personality he could well have been a stand up comedian in today's world.
