According to HBO, reports of Euphoria‘s death are greatly exaggerated… again.
Despite recent rumors that the Sam Levinson-created A24 teen drama has been cancelled after two seasons amid the prolonged wait for Season 3, the network has said that the show is still set to resume production next year.
“Euphoria is going in to production in 2025. Nothing has changed,” a rep for HBO said in a statement to The Guardian.
After Season 2 aired in early 2022, production on the next installment has been delayed by last year’s WGA & SAG-AFTRA strikes, as well as the death of star Angus Cloud in July 2023.
In July, Deadline reported that Euphoria would begin production on Season 3 in January 2025 with the principal cast returning and a time jump planned.

HBO’s Euphoria took the world by storm in 2019 and continued its momentum after the premiere of Season 2. Its insane popularity among fans warranted a series renewal. Taking this into consideration, many have been wondering why it is taking so long for Season 3 to arrive.

It does not help that many of its loyal viewers have already lost interest in the narrative. This long delay, paired with the controversial behind-the-scenes drama, is not helping the show retain its fanbase.
What’s Causing Euphoria’s Massive Delay?
In February 2022, the series was renewed for a third season. Now, it has been two years and fans aren’t getting positive updates about it, and to make it worse, there have been rumors that it has been canceled for good. Thankfully, HBO issued a statement via The Independent and debunked the claim that the show is getting axed.

The Nosferatu remake has been highly anticipated since it was first announced. Although audiences are always hesitant about remakes of classic films, the cast and the people involved with the project brought them some hope. With The Lighthouse’s Robert Eggers heading the project, it stars big names like Bill Skarsgård, Willem Dafoe, Emma Corrin, and Lily-Rose Depp.

The last name from the bunch has caused many to hesitate though, wondering if one more ‘nepo baby’ would end up ruining a film because they had connections in the right places. However, if the early reviews are to be believed, fans do not have to worry about Depp’s acting in the slightest.

The first feature film from Abel Tesfaye — Aka The Weeknd — has secured distribution and unveiled its title.
The film from director and writer Trey Edward Shults (“Waves”) is called “Hurry Up Tomorrow” and will be released in theaters by Lionsgate. The studio announced on Monday that it secured worldwide theatrical distribution rights for the film, though no release date has been announced yet.

The album will be a companion piece to the film’s actual score, which was composed by Tesfaye and Daniel Lopatin.
The film stars Tesfaye alongside Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan and melds genres alongside its soundscapes. No synopsis was released.

Born September 1, 1996, Zendaya rose to fame as a child star on the Disney Channel, with fan-favorite characters in “Shake It Up” and “K.C. Undercover.” The singer and actress soon started dabbling in feature films, where she earned the plum role of Mj, Tom Holland‘s love interest, in Marvel’s “Spider-Man” movies. Zendaya’s biggest claim to fame was in 2020, when she became the youngest-ever Emmy winner in the Best Drama Actress category for playing a teen drug addict on “Euphoria.” Her career continues to blossom thanks to recent releases like “Challengers” (directed by Luca Guadagnino) and “Dune” (directed by Denis Villeneuve).

Now that we know "Call Me By Your Name" and "Challengers" director Luca Guadagnino is making his own version of "American Psycho" — one that's based on Bret Easton Ellis' novel, not the 2000 movie helmed by writer-director Mary Harron — the world is waiting to see who Guadagnino and his team choose to play this generation's Patrick Bateman. I'm eminently unqualified to make this decision — for one thing, I'm not a casting director, and also, nobody asked me — but I definitely have ideas.
Here's one: Guadagnino could gender-flip the role and cast Zendaya, his "Challengers" lead who proved, throughout the tennis drama, that she can definitely play an apex predator. If she's not available, Margaret Qualley could probably make a meal out of the role. If we're sticking with guys, there are some great options who have simply aged out of the role; Robert Pattinson and Penn Badgley could both bring something quite excellent to Patrick,...

Zendaya is ready to graduate to “Euphoria” Season 3.
The Emmy-winning actress and series producer said during Entertainment Weekly‘s “The Awards” podcast that the time jump for the upcoming season is “important” to the arc of the show. The “Challengers” star added that it will offer a “fascinating” storyline for her character Rue. The series will finally return to production in January 2025, and Zendaya said that she is “interested to see what happens.”
“It will be fascinating to see and understand these characters outside of the context of high school and how all the stuff that we saw when they were kids and they were in high school affects the adulthood they have and who they become in a much bigger world,” Zendaya said. “I’ll be interested to see what happens too.”
She added of the time jump, “It’s important because there’s only so much high school drama you can deal with.

Season 3 of HBO’s provocative series Euphoria, from Sam Levinson, is scheduled to hit TV screens sometime in 2025 as the delays will have the series resume filming in January. Levinson had planned to work on season 3 while his other series for HBO, Idol, was in post-production, but the dual strikes from the writers’ and actors’ unions would initially hold up the production. HBO’s Head of Drama Francesca Orsi said last year, “Euphoria is one of those that we had begun writing in tandem with post-production on Idol but at this point, we don’t have countless scripts. We can’t start shooting, so the delivery of that show — ideally in 2025 — will be determined on when we can pick back up with Sam [Levinson], who at this point is all pencils down and just finishing posts on Idol.“

The hit HBO drama series “Euphoria” will jump ahead significantly in time for its third season, according to statements from actress Zendaya. The upcoming installment of the show will move the story beyond the high school setting that was central in previous seasons.
Zendaya, who plays the lead role of Rue and also serves as an executive producer, explained the decision to skip ahead was because viewers can only watch “so much high school drama.” She said the time jump will make the new season “fascinating” by showing “how all the stuff that we saw when they were kids and they were in high school affects the adulthood they have and who they become.”
The cast will have the challenge of revisiting their roles after a substantial period of time away from the show. Actress Sydney Sweeney, who plays Cassie, told Cosmopolitan the time jump means learning her character again from the beginning.

Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney has gained massive success ever since the HBO series premiered. The actress had been consistent in the industry, working for a decade and a half before landing her most popular role as Cassie.
Ever since then, the actress appeared in multiple projects and has successfully established her name in Hollywood. However, even after achieving the success most people her age could only dream of, Sweeney did not feel secure. The Anyone but You lead came from a financially challenged background which made her hyper-aware of the instability of her current status.
The long road to success: Sydney Sweeney’s toil
Sydney Sweeney has been in the entertainment industry for much longer than her fans know. She has small roles in hit shows like Criminal Minds, Grey’s Anatomy, and later in Pretty Little Liars. The actress also landed a main role in Everything Sucks! (2018).

Last week, Abel Tesfaye revealed the title and cover of his upcoming sixth studio album, Hurry Up Tomorrow, the follow-up to 2022’s Dawn FM and the final part of a trilogy that began with 2020’s After Hours. The first single from the album, “Dancing in the Flames,” dropped tonight, accompanied by a music video shot entirely on the latest iPhone, part of a promotional deal with Apple.
For the Weeknd, “Dancing in the Flames” marks a turn back toward a lighter pop sound following the more R&b-inflected singles used to promote The Idol, Sam Levinson and Tesfaye’s short-lived HBO series. Produced by Max Martin and Oscar Holter, the creative team behind “Blinding Lights,” the synth-pop track finds the singer once again associating romantic longing with the risk of physical danger: “I can’t wait to see your face/Crash when we’re switching lanes/My love’s beyond the pain.

The 2024 Creative Arts Emmy Awards were held over the last weekend and quite a lot of shows were honored during the ceremony. While Shogun was the leading name with 14 wins out of 21 nominations, other shows had their names called out from the stage as well. It was a fun affair, especially for those who work behind the cameras, as they took a day off from work to enjoy themselves.

While Johnny Depp’s daughter, Lily-Rose Depp seems to be making a headway in her career with the upcoming Robert Eggers horror film Nosferatu, the failure of The Idol still looms over her. The HBO show was canceled after five episodes, with many fans criticizing its themes and graphic depictions of s*x and n*dity.

The amount of respect and admiration between the filmmaking and star is palpable as they talk about undertaking Anger’s “My First Film,” based on her 2019 multimedia art project of the same name, which was itself about her lost film “Always All Ways, Annie Marie.” Young plays Vita, a filmmaker who looks back at making her movie — about a woman played by her friend Dina (Devon Ross) — who gets pregnant and decides to leave home. It also looks at Vita’s own history with her queer parents and extraordinary conception story, as she was raised by two mothers and a gay father, who brought over his sperm during a blizzard for Anger’s mothers to use to conceive her. “My First Film,...

Sydney Sweeney and Zendaya are two of the most talked-about young actresses today. Both have made their mark in HBO’s hit drama series Euphoria created by Sam Levinson, and they’ve each ventured into the superhero genre.
While Zendaya is already an MCU veteran from the Spider-Man films, recent rumors suggest that Sweeney might be joining her in the Marvel universe soon.
Sydney Sweeney recently appeared in the Ssu’s Madame Web as Julia Cornwall, also known as Spider-Woman. Despite the film’s disappointing performance and financial losses, and uncertainty about a potential sequel, Sweeney reportedly met with Marvel Studios execs shortly after the release. Insider sources suggest she might be cast as Black Cat in the MCU, potentially appearing in Spider-Man 4. However, this remains speculative.

Sydney Sweeney and Zendaya are currently one of the most popular young actresses. Zendaya and Sydney Sweeney have both appeared in ‘Euphoria’, the HBO drama series created by Sam Levinson, but both have also ventured into the superhero genre.
Zendaya is already an MCU veteran staring in MCU’s Spider-Man ‘Home’ trilogy, and if the rumors in the last couple of months are correct Sweeney might join her.
Sweeney recently ventured into Ssu’s ‘Madame Web’ playing the role of Julia Cornwall aka Spider-Woman. The movie was a major flop losing tons of money for the studio, and we’re still not sure whether the movie will ever get a sequel despite clearly setting up the whole thing revolving around Spider-Women.
However, soon after the movie was released Sweeney allegedly met with Marvel Studios execs to discuss potential roles for the actress and some insider sources claim that the actress...

This past March, Sydney Sweeney of Anyone But You, The White Lotus and Everything Sucks fame, made famously out-and-proud comedian Bowen Yang straight — or at least he pretended to be for a sex scene with her.
“One of the weirdest (SNL experiences) was something I only have myself to blame for,” Yang told Stephen Colbert on Tuesday's episode of The Late Show. “We wrote a sketch called ‘Bowen’s Straight’ where I exerted my range — I played a heterosexual version of myself seducing Sydney Sweeney.”
Yang said that he was impressed by how committed Sweeney was to the bit, telling Colbert that he was “charmed” by how she made him believe that she was in love with him. “That was the craziest feeling,” Yang added. He also noted that Sweeney suggested that she didn’t need an intimacy coordinator to film their sex scene in the sketch because she had...

As the cast of Euphoria gears up to film the long-overdue Season 3, Colman Domingo has one thing on the mind.
The Academy Award nominee, who plays recovering drug addict Ali on the HBO series, said he’s “asking for my character to have sex” in the upcoming season, noting that he’s one of the few actors without a sex scene on the show.
“I would like to see – because I’m like, ‘These young kids are out there having all this kind of sex,’ and I’m like, ‘I think Ali needs to get some this season,'” Domingo said this week on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy. “I’d like to see what that is.”
His revelation came after host Andy Cohen asked, “Do you ever go to [creator] Sam Levinson and be like, ‘Hey dude, let my character counsel Jacob Elordi a little bit. Let me get in there with him?...

“Cool” is one of those nebulous descriptors that defies classification. A cool girl could be anyone from an irreverent teen ditching class under the bleachers to a popular trend-setter rocking the latest style, a tik tok master with millions of followers or – like Gillian Flynn’s Amy Dunne – a woman consumed with attracting a man. This ever-evolving status can be difficult to pin down, but we all know a cool girl when we see her. Hunter Schafer is that girl; a celebrated actress currently reinventing the idea of “cool” for a new generation. With her latest role in Tilman Singer’s Cuckoo, Schafer brings this edgy energy to another classic female archetype. In her first starring role, Schafer takes on the final girl trope and embodies the female empowerment of legendary heroines while maintaining her own effortless allure. With an electric performance in this uniquely terrifying film, Schafer breaks the...

Hunter Schafer greets me with a confession. Beckoning me through a small gated fence into the winding maze of the Chateau Marmont’s lush, greenery-covered courtyard, she gives me a hug, then yawns. “There’s a lot happening right now,” she says. “I’ve barely gotten a handle on it.” There’s a gray vape in her hand, worn split-toe Tabis on her feet, and a wry smile on her face. “To be fully honest with you, I’d forgotten this was happening.”

To craft the now iconic dance behind “World Class Sinner/I’m A Freak” from HBO’s “The Ido,l” choreographer Nina McNeely first needed to understand the root of pop star and musical sensation Jocelyn’s (played by Lily-Rose Depp).
“She’s a former child star. She was at the pinnacle of her fame, then went through a rough patch and had a mental breakdown. And in the rehearsal scene, that’s her big comeback; she’s rehearsing for her big comeback, so there’s an insane amount of pressure on her,” McNeely explained in Variety’s Artisans series, presented by HBO. “She had canceled tours; she needs to get that money back. She needs to top the charts, and she’s also having that rehearsal in the midst of a scandal.”
Visual artist and dance legend McNeely has worked with Major Lazer, Björk, the Foo Fighters, and (of course) The Weeknd.

Even Hunter Schafer is confused by the reports that “Euphoria” will return.
HBO confirmed that Season 3 will begin filming in January 2025, with series breakout stars Schafer, Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, and the entire principal cast returning. However, Schafer said during the “Call Her Daddy” podcast that she has “no fucking idea” about the slated season.
“The real tea is I have no fucking idea what’s going on,” the “Cuckoo” star said, “and you can ask literally all of the cast.”
“Euphoria” Season 3 has been plagued with strike delays and rumors of clashes between showrunner Sam Levinson and two-time Emmy winner Zendaya, who also produces the show. In a July 2024 exposé published in The Hollywood Reporter, a source claimed that the allegations of a toxic workplace during Levinson’s “The Idol” production affected Zendaya, who allegedly turned down Levinson’s initial script ideas for “Euphoria” Season 3.

Colman Domingo still can’t believe he’s become a “54-year-old heartthrob,” all thanks to his role on Euphoria.
The Emmy-winning actor, who plays Rue’s (Zendaya) sponsor Ali on the hit HBO series, recently opened up to Jessica Shaw on SiriusXM’s The Spotlight about this newfound attention he’s received from the younger generation.
“It’s really kind of incredible,” Domingo said. “They’re like, ‘Oh my god, Ali!’ And usually what’s so sweet, they look at me and they want me to be their big brother, their father figure, their counselor or something.”
However, the Rustin star admitted he’s also experienced some wilder run-ins with younger fans.
“I was literally driving down the 405 in L.A. and a group of young girls kept looking at me and my husband was like, ‘Those girls are looking at you. Is something wrong?'” he recalled of the encounter.

Despite HBO setting a January 2025 start date for “Euphoria” Season 3, star Hunter Schafer says she has “no f–king idea what’s going on” with the Sam Levinson-created series.

Schafer’s comments follow months of production delays for Season 3, which was renewed for its third season back in February 2022. Eric Dane is full of gratitude.
“I’ve been put through the wringer,” the actor tells me Tuesday morning over Zoom while promoting his new indie drama, “One Fast Move.” “But now I’m having fucking fun.”
For many years, Dane’s private life played out in the tabloids. He recently opened up on Dax Shepard’s “Armchair Expert” podcast about his “Grey’s Anatomy” character Dr. Mark Sloan, a.k.a. McSteamy, being killed off the hit ABC show due, in part, to his real-life substance abuse problems.
But that was then.
Dane has been quite busy these last few years. In addition to “One Fast Move” – he plays a deadbeat dad and former motorcycle racing champion whose estranged son (Apa) comes back into his life – the actor appeared in this summer’s “Bad Boys: Ride or Die” opposite Will Smith and Martin Lawrence.

Before starring in blockbusters, Zendaya could have almost been part of Disney Channel’s Descendants franchise at one point.
In a recent interview on the Magical Rewind podcast, Cornelia Frame, the former vp casting and talent relations at the network, revealed the Emmy winner actually auditioned multiple times for the musical fantasy television film.
“Zendaya did audition many times for Descendants, and that was a big deal,” she recalled to hosts Will Friedle (Boy Meets World) and Sabrina Bryan (The Cheetah Girls). “It was a really big deal. She auditioned over and over and really wanted it. It just ended up not going her way.”
The Descendants franchise centers on the teenage children of classic Disney villains, including Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Jafar and Cruella de Vil. The first film premiered in 2015, with two sequels debuting in 2017 and 2019. And the spinoff Descendants: The Rise of Red dropped on Disney+ earlier this month.

When the Emmy nominations were announced last week, heads turned when Sam Levinson and The Weeknd’s The Idol scooped up a nomination. And Nina McNeely, who earned the nod for choreography, feels like the axed HBO show deserved more Emmy love.

Zendaya was allegedly ready to challenge Sam Levinson’s plans for “Euphoria” Season 3.
After a years-long hiatus (“Euphoria” has been off the air since Season 2 concluded in February 2022), “Challengers” star and “Euphoria” executive producer Zendaya was frustrated by Levinson opting instead to focus on his controversial series “The Idol” rather than the long-awaited third season of “Euphoria.”
