Tvp, Poland’s largest broadcaster, announced two series topping its MipTV slate: comedy-drama “We Shall Live Together” and period drama “Matylda.”

The six-episode “We Shall Live Together” is the first series produced in Poland that is set during the Russian-Ukraine war. In the series, Polish couple Basia and Tadeusz, who live in the mansion of Basia’s wealthy mother Magda, bring two Ukrainian refugees to live with them, turning their world upside-down. Although Magda reluctantly welcomes the guests, this unexpected situation creates numerous comedic but also touching moments. Germany’s Beta Cinema has racked up multiple territory deals for its Joseph Goebbels biopic Führer and Seducer ahead of the film’s premiere at the European Film Market in Berlin later this week. Beta signed all-rights territorial deals with Spain (A Contracorriente), Portugal (Films4You), Scandinavia (Mis Label), Benelux (Dutch Film Works), Czech Republic (Donart Film), former Yugoslavia (Discovery) Japan (At Entertainment) and Australia & New Zealand (Moving Story Entertainment) for the feature. Wild Bunch will release the film in the German-speaking territories.

Directed by filmmaker/writer/historian Joachim A. Sex and the City could be described in a lot of different ways. It was provocative, it was sultry, and it was funny. Very few people would describe the show about a sex columnist as “wholesome,” though. Even though it’s certainly not the first word that comes to mind when we think of the series, Sex and the City did have some seriously wholesome moments. We’ve collected our three favorites.

Pam Grier has lived an incredible life. Her autobiography, "Foxy: A Life in Three Acts" is hopefully going to be turned into a biopic that can finally celebrate her trailblazing career. An entire generation of fans know her as the titular character in "Jackie Brown," Tarantino's follow-up to "Pulp Fiction," based on the crime novel "Rum Punch" by Elmore Leonard. Decades before that, Grier became widely known as the first female action star playing street-savvy, no-nonsense characters in "Coffy" (She'll cream you!), "Foxy Brown", and the more comedic mystery "Friday Foster." 

An undeniable acting force and sought-after sex symbol, it was only a matter of time before more challenging, high-profile roles started to come Grier's way. After essentially owning the 1970s, Grier started off the '80s taking on more character-driven parts, like in the boxing drama "Tough Enough" starring Dennis Quaid, and the classic police procedural "Fort Apache the Bronx" starring Paul Newman.

The film written and directed by Houston and produced by MPI is based on the true story of Melony Armstrong (Brown), a determined mother who sets out to start a natural hair braiding business to achieve financial independence, but must overcome unexpected obstacles imposed by a powerful cosmetology cartel and the state of Mississippi. Melony’s efforts led to thousands of African American women in Mississippi following in her footsteps and realizing their own entrepreneurial dreams.
