Kia Jam is the founder and President of K. Jam Media. Kia has participated in over $2 billion globally in entertainment transactions and has independently produced and/or financed more than 30 motion pictures over the past 25 years. His three most recent films, "Killer's Game", Starring Dave Bautista and Sir Ben Kinglsey, "The Strangers: Chapter 1" and "The Strangers : Chapter 2" will be released by Lionsgate in 2024. Before that, he produced "Not Without Hope" starring Zachary Levi and "The Misfits", directed by Renny Harlin and starring Pierce Brosnan and Tim Roth. The film was shot entirely in Abu Dhabi and released by Paramount Pictures. Previous releases include "The Postcard Killings" starring Jefferey Dean Morgan and Famke Jansen and "City of Lies", directed by Brad Furman and starring Johnny Depp and Forest Whitaker, "In the Heart of the Sea" directed by Ron Howard starring Chris Hemsworth, and "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For", directed by Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez and starring Bruce Willis, Jessica Alba, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Jam will be executive producing the television series Empress, a co-production with Starlight Media and the producer of Game of Thrones.
Mr. Jam was invited to the 2016 Silk Road International Film Festival in Xi'an, China as an official member of the jury for the festival. While in Xi'an, Mr. Jam was also a guest speaker at a Media Leadership Class at the China Film Group Corporation. He has also spoken at the Beijing Film Academy, USC Film School, UCLA, Harvard and at various other distinguished universities. Prior to launching K. Jam Media, Mr. Jam was a principal founder and C.O.O. at Ascendant Pictures, an independent film production and finance company based in Beverly Hills, California. Along with its subsidiary Rising Star, Ascendant financed eighteen movies over a five-year period with budgets totaling more than $750 million. Mr. Jam acted in a producing capacity on all Ascendant Pictures' projects including "Lucky Number Slevin" (starring Bruce Willis, Josh Hartnett, and Morgan Freeman) and "The Big White" (starring Robin Williams and Holly Hunter). With Tom Cruise, he co-produced "Ask the Dusk" (starring Colin Farrel, Salma Hayek) and co-produced "The Jacket" (starring Adrien Brody and Keira Knightly) alongside George Clooney.
In 2006 along with Barrie Osborne (Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Matrix), Mr. Jam served as an executive producer of the sci-fi action adventure "Outlander" (starring Jim Caviezel and Ron Perlman). He is also the producer of the MGM released comedy "Who's Your Caddy" and "Timber Falls". Prior to his tenure at Ascendant, Mr. Jam was President of an independent film production company based in Santa Monica, California. In 2002, he co-produced "Juwanna Mann" for Morgan Creek Pictures and Warner Bros. Among his other productions are "Dungeons & Dragons" with Joel Silver (The Matrix Trilogy, Sherlock Holmes) for New Line Cinema, which starred Jeremy Irons and Marlon Wayans. Prior to producing features, Mr. Jam was recruited by James Cameron's visual effects powerhouse Digital Domain where he was involved in all levels of production on over 60 television commercials, including a Clio Award-winning Jeep Commercial and David Fincher's Grammy Award Winning Rolling Stones music video for "Love is Strong". Mr. Jam has also served as a consultant for a wide range of filmed entertainment company clients such as Relativity, Xinhua Media Entertainment, and Miramax Films, where together with his partners he secured and help organize the $660M purchase of Miramax from The Walt Disney Company. Mr. Jam graduated as a member of The Golden Key International Honor Society from the University of California Irvine with a degree in Political Science. Additionally, he is a member of the Producers Guild of America and served on the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Youth Foundation for several years. He and his wife live in Los Angeles.
