Became engaged to the late Steve Irwin only three months after meeting him. They married eight months after they first met.

Is a certified Zoologist who took care of injured animals at her home in Eugene for several years. One of the animals in her care was the baby cougar from Benji the Hunted (1987). She was also a volunteer for area zoos, and helped organize free children's zoos in local parks by setting up and providing some of her own animals for exhibits.

Met her late husband, Steve Irwin, at the Australia Zoo while on vacation there.

Named her daughter Bindi after her husband Steve's favorite crocodile.

Second child, Robert Clarence "Bob" Irwin born on the 1st of December, 2003 at 8:00 a.m., weighing 7 pounds and 4 ounces.

Although she and her late husband, Steve, were happily married, they never wore wedding rings for the safety of them and/or the animals they handled.
