After years in development purgatory, Stephen King’s The Dark Tower is finally moving forward with a film adaptation. As of this writing, Roland (Idris Elba) and the Man in Black (Matthew McConaughey) are fleeing across deserts and popping across parallel universes. The movie isn’t due out until next year, but Entertainment Weekly got the exclusive first (official) look at Ebla and McConaughey in costume… …hold up, is that a Pokeball? What do you mean this magazine ‘is not a Pokestop’????? EW promises exclusive photos of the Mid-World plains and images of Jake Chambers (Tom Holloway) in the issue. There will also be interviews with director Nikolaj Arcel and actor Idris Elba. Elba will speak for the first time about race-swapping Roland’s character from white to black. The cover of Entertainment Weekly's yearly Comic-Con preview issue has been released, and out of every film it could present, they went with The Dark Tower, which was unexpected yet awesome! It gives us our first official look at Idris Elba as The Gunslinger and Matthew McConaughey as The Man in Black.

Marisa Tomei, Alfred Molina and “Malcolm in the Middle” alum Jane Kaczmarek will lead the starry production at this summer’s Williamstown Theatre Festival, artistic director Mandy Greenfield announced Monday. Oscar winner Tomei will star in Tennessee Williams‘ “The Rose Tattoo,” which runs from June 28 to July 17 in a revival directed by Trip Cullman. Molina and Kaczmarek will star in the American premiere of Australian playwright Tom Holloway’s drama “And No More Shall We Part,” about a married couple facing the challenge of one partner’s terminal illness. Beneath Hill 60, Lou, Animal Kingdom and the still unreleased Griff the Invisible compete for best original feature screenplay, while Rush dominated the TV series category with three of its episodes going against one of Spirited. Underbelly’s second and third series monopolised the mini-series adaptation category.
The ceremony will take place at Peninsula, Melbourne, on August 20.
