Brian Groh(I)
- Actor
- Writer
- Director
A Rescue Diver and Dive Master, Brian is a decorated member of the U.S.
Coast Guard Auxilliary for his Search and Rescue efforts on the Alaskan
Airlines crash off the coast of Ventura, California. However, his life
began far from the California coast and the boat he now lives on. Brian
grew up raising livestock and breaking horses on a farm in
the wooded valleys of Missouri with his younger brother and two
sisters. His father and mother were natives of New York who bravely
abandoned their city lives to embrace a rural lifestyle in the middle
of the Ozarks. Early on Brian joined organizations like the Missouri
Spleological Society for cave exploration and other volunteer rescue
organizations that have lead to his current participation in coastal
programs like Santa Monica's Heal the Bay and Kelp Reforestation
projects. As an actor he's starred in independent features and been
written up in Variety magazine as best cast in Bill Fishman's "Dinner
with Jimi" playing the role of John Lennon. In Rich Brunton's
"Mosaics," Brian accepted the Silver Medal for Best Dramatic feature at
Houston's Worldfest 2002. In an ongoing effort, he's starring in a film
based on his own hitchhiking journal across the United States and
Canada scheduled to be finished and ready for festivals in 2006. Oh
yeah, he dances a hell of a Tango.
